Intermission!

Note: When your music is in a 3-ring binder, it is actually preferable to close the 3-rings before turning the pages. ::)

Did anyone watch FALLING SKIES?  We are watching it now & have three episodes left.  We like it so much we watch 2-3 episodes at a time.

I've been watching it.  I don't love it, but I certainly want to see where it's going.

I've been watching it as it was broadcast...so I'm all caught up.

I think we will finishing watching our last three episodes tonight.  I don't want to stop mid-way between the two part season finale.

George do you think it matters if I don't watch all three tonight?  Last night we watched Sanctuary part 1 & 2 & it was definitely a continuation of one story.  The finale doesn't say it is 2 parts, only 2 hours.

"Where it is going," as in "next season." :)

I've been watching them as they've been broadcast and have been able to keep up and remember what happened.  They also have a "previously on Fallen Skies" segment at the beginning of each episode, so that helps.  I wouldn't worry about not watching the rest of it all at once.

Crazy day. Got plenty of work done and it was busy, but I get the feeling that this job isn't going to last. So, I went out and enjoyed some Pakistani food tonight and was just thankful for what I have while it lasts.

Made it to my first dance class in a couple of months. Felt good. Yet I felt wiped out by the end of 90 minutes.

Thanks for the Ben Brantley link, FJL. If any of you read it, read Bob Gunton's hilarious response among the comments afterward. And, of course, FJL's lyrics.

Bob Gunton's comment is comment #2.

It's fun that Ben Brantley mentioned "As Time Goes By" and "It's In His Kiss" in his article, and that the editor provided links to those songs right there in the Ben Brantley article.

A good editor would do that. Or do you find it too much?

Oh no, not too much at all.  As i said, i think it's fun - both that Brantley does stuff like that in the ArtsBeat blog and that the editor follows through with the links to the actual songs.  Also smart, in that it seems it probably keeps people on the Times page longer.

I was talking to relatives in Baltimore and got to thinking of Baltimora and their "Tarzan Boy" song - surprised to find out that their lead performer had died about 15 years ago, and that there was controversy over whether he actually did the song's vocals or if he was just the front man because of his dancing.

but I loved the song in the 80's, so a Baltimora TARZAN BOY dance

I read a book last year called "The Shallows" and it talked about how such links keep people from remembering stories in a linear fashion, so they don't remember all the details correctly.

Now, in a piece like this, that's OK. In a story about a medical treatment or a Ponzi scheme or something convoluted, it may be a different story. But it's always interesting to hear what people think of such things.

I always read the articles through and then go back over to the links afterwards.
