Alas, I should have been in the air an hour and fifteen minutes ago, but due to various delays in getting here this morning - including my own - I missed my flight. Thankfully, there was room on the 12:30pm flight. So, I'll still be getting to San Diego today, just six hours later than originally scheduled/planned.

In the meantime, I'm taking up residence in the Airspace Lounge here at BWI. It's basically a pay-for-a-day Admirals Club set up. It's not too bad. Free Wi-Fi, unlimited coffe and soft drinks, snacks, and one meal or alchoholic beverage are included in the one-time fee of $17.50. Kind of a bargain.

I, too, love that train ride up the Hudson River, and I really need to do it again this Fall once the leaves starts to change.

-I'm not sure I'd call Poughkeepsie "enticing", but I do love the campus of Vassar.

iPod:  Two CDs I loaded about two weeks ago and I've yet listened to:  the Vernon Duke/Ogden Nash SWEET BYE AND BYE recording and Irene Dunne Sings Kern

Tivo:  nothing--I'm afraind my Tivo is kaput...

DVD:  nothing new...

On Demand:  I've been watching the latest DR. WHO episodes.  Finished season 5 earlier in the week and I'm up to Episode 5 of Season 6.  Wonderful series!

Otherwise, I had quite a nice time at an impromptu post-show gathering at the apartment of the dance captain last night. There were about 10 people from the cast and crew, two adorable puppies, and various food and drinks. Oh, and I was introduced to the TV show, "Dance Moms", on Lifetime TV. I may have to add that to my DVR queue.

Kyle, our "Dream Curly"', then graciously allowed me to stay overnight at his place so that I wouldn't have such a long drive this morning to BWI. Alas, even though I had avoided the morning rush hour traffic from Virginia to Baltimore, I did not avoid the morning rush hour traffic from DC to Baltimore. It took about 20 minutes longer than I had planned/GoogleMap'd...

And then because the big arrow pointing to the where the entrance to the Daily Lot at BWI was obscured by a tree AND a construction sign, I ended up having to drive around the airport loop for an extra ten minutes trying to get back to the garage. I did get to the check-in desk 30 minutes before my flight, but with the security screening line(!!!!!!!) there was no way I was going to make it to my gate in time. -The security screening line was truly one of the longest ones  I've ever been in.

But at least now I can have a leisurely breakfast, some beverages, a snack and free WiFi before my flight.

On a related note, Anne Midgette also mentioned OKLAHOMA! in a recent blog article. She was talking about the "opera-ization" of the American Musical. Quite an interesting read. And we also got mentioned in a recent restaurant review too. ;)

We have dipped into Hulu for the first  time.

We love Doc Martin but have not seen it in order and we wanted to watch it from the beginning. I've also missed some episodes because of the dentist appointment (I have evening appointments from 6pm to 8pm and the show begins at 8pm and we don't have a DVR or recordable DVD player and our VCR only plays back tapes). We watched the first 3 episodes. It takes some getting use to because we're watching it on a laptop in the living room. If we shift in our chairs it can cause viewing issues. We also have commercials. We are watching it on Hulu but not directly through the Hulu site because when I went to Hulu and clicked Play I was told the series is for "mature" audiences and I needed to register and log in before I could watch. I don't need to register to watch no friggin' TV shows so I went to tv.blinkx.com. They also say it's for mature audiences but all you have to do is choose the year you were born (or any year that makes you 18 or older) and you are then taken to Hulu to watch.

We may try to watch more episodes when we return from Poughkeepsie.

(This story made me SO angry--what was the Port Authority thinking?  Hopefully there's a good civil attorney who can find something to sue the idiot for).

I also slept poorly last night and had the inevitable dream where everything went wrong at the rehearsal dinner.  I wonder if Mary Linda or her mother have had dreams like that about the wedding?

Anyway, today I must finish up the errands that didn't get done yesterday and ready the guest room for ML's arrival tonight.  She will be joined there tomorrow night by her mother and grandmother who are driving from Michigan in the morning for the 1:30pm bridal shower.
