And...

I think I'm going to wrap things up here, and get ready to head to my gate. I have a two-hour layover in Houston, so... I'll see you there! ;)

Quote from JOSE--[Kyle, our "Dream Curly"', then graciously allowed me to stay overnight at his place so that I wouldn't have such a long drive this morning to BWI.

Toyland was fine. The cleaning man had been in and tidied up our mess.

I have accomplished all of my errands, so I think I will do the laundry and consider it finished. I can spend tomorrow tidying the apartment before I head to 41st and 8th Ave. While things are drying, I'll walk to Citibank and withdraw some cash for my trip.

I just called my landlord and the rent check I mailed last Wednesday was posted yesterday. One more worry down.

Hopefully this won't happen to BK on his JetBlue flight.

I don't think that BK would do anything like that.

Good morning, all! It was a night of terrible sleep, about 6 hours at most, provoked either by the panic of too little recording sessions in Dublin or my fear of flying, neither of which is particularly healthy. The fear of sessions has been caused by the fact that the novices to the recording world, without asking advice from the Grammy-winning producer or me, has only scheduled six sessions to record full chorus, soloists and orchestra in two hours of music, and I think we need a minimum of 9-10, allowing for vocalists postponing to protect the voice, power failure, bad takes, and other errors plus some catchup time. Both the producer and I are concerned. so she's unhappy with me for decisions I made three months ago when my requests for feedback got nothing, and I'm unhappy with her because she spreads herself too thin at times, lke missing a deadline to make her opinion of our leading lady's voice known.

Two weeks ago I was told we had all 8 sessions back, and then, suddenly, we were back to six. This recording is a litmus test for both the producer and me, and this recording will determine whether or not we continue. As to my fear of flying, I hate long flights and I have to spend part of my day determining the whys and wherefores of getting my butt to Newark with too much luggage.

The first part of my day is taking care of some family business for my brother randy, so I have to get some papers signed and notarized and returned to Ohio by Priority Mail. I've decided that the payments I mailed on July 2 were destroyed in a US Postal conveyor belt/sorting machine disaster, since no check I mailed 10 days ago appears to have reached its destination and cleared. This is ridiculous/

Thanks, DR George! I'm coping. We still don't have anyone for the silly ass English role, Sir Reggie, and they keep throwing opera singers for what is essentially a Gilbert & Sullivan patter song with comedy timing at me. Oy!

Aaarrrgh - I'm so frustrated!  I designed a cute invitation for Rob and Mary Linda's rehearsal dinner, printed it and put it on a flash drive, and went to Staples yesterday to have it printed.  The tech said we'd get a better print from the flash drive, but she couldn't open it because it's in Pages (Mac's equivalent to Word).  So, I came home and turned it into a PDF and went back out there today.  Same tech - she could open it but when she tried to send it to the printer she got the error message "Insufficient data for printing" or something like that.  Of course, she said, "Well, it's because you have a Mac."  That's what they all say...

Have a fun weekend.

In the meantime, I'm taking up residence in the Airspace Lounge here at BWI. It's basically a pay-for-a-day Admirals Club set up. It's not too bad. Free Wi-Fi, unlimited coffe and soft drinks, snacks, and one meal or alchoholic beverage are included in the one-time fee of $17.50. Kind of a bargain.

You can eat or have an alcoholic drink, not do both? ;D

DR Jane, I have not watched Falling Skies as it has not aired here. But if it does I will watch it. Or I may watch it at some point online.

Keith loves it & I like it very much.  I think watching all ten episodes in four days made it more enjoyable as the story line continues from episode to episode.

Hello from NY and my hotel.  The flight was fast and comfortable.  I was a little further back than I like, but still in an extra leg room seat (all the front seats were taken - that is very unusual - I have a second row seat coming home).  I thought traffic was going to be horrendous, but it wasn't bad at all.  Had a very nice cabbie.  The hotel, which is new to me and I found on Quikbook with really good rates, looked a little funky when I came in (it's on 46th on the East Side, but just off Fifth) - no check-in desk - totally weird.  There's a little office and I gave them my name - they already had my key and I was taken to my second floor room.  Once their all funk disappeared.  The room is really nice, everything is new, there's room to actually move around and there's even a little patio with a table and chair.

Ginny, I used to use Kinko's some years ago and at that time they were Mac-based. You may want to keep them in mind for "unusual" copy needs.

DR Jeanne, Kinko's was a possibility but there isn't one close by.  My friend Suzy, who's a graphic designer and a Mac person, recommended a local printer.  So, I've been over there and will have my invitations Monday - on higher quality paper and at about half the cost of Staples.

TOD:

I'm watching season 3 of WISH ME LUCK. I'm a huge fan of season 1, which I think is brilliant. Unfortunately, season 2 and 3 have both a different composer and a very different look to the production. Not up to the quality of season 1, IMO, but still entertaining.

THE CLOSER season 6

Next up: WENT THE DAY WELL?

Good! Glad you found a suitable alternative. Interesting that it's cheaper, too.
