We took Sherlock to the vet yesterday to get a lump checked.  It appears harmless enough to wait until he needs other work & remove it then.  The vet found a broken tooth we suspect happened Wednesday night, & said he needs the other work now. :(  She believes he needs a root canal & a cap on the tooth to save it.  Since it is a top front molar strategically located for eating, she said it is worth saving.

Before she puts him out to do x-rays & remove the growth we need to be prepared to make a decision.  Whatever we decide it won't happen this month unless something changes with the lump or his tooth/gum.

Aside from the cost we wonder if it is worth saving the tooth since Sherlock rarely chews his food.

I bought this stuff that's supposed to clean your dishwasher and get rid of any build up....wow!  It works!

What did you use?  I've read Kool-aid works just as well.  I just wash ours with a cup of vinegar to get a bad smell out of there.  I tried baking soda first & it didn't work.

Shoot, I took the garbage out. It's in a bottle that you turn upside down and run the washer on the hottest setting.  It's a diswasher cleaner. The main ingredient is citric acid.  The dishes in the load after that one were really clean.  I was getting really disgusted with my dishwasher and this made the difference.  It's an old one.  it was in the house when I bought it

I really have to laugh that the country takes the Iowa Straw Poll seriously.  You have to pay to get in and the candidates send busses places and will pay your entry fee if you go for them.  They have huge parties and give away all sorts of stuff.  It's not binding and is really just an indication of who spent the most money.  It means nothing

Next time try Kool-Aid ;)  Mine wasn't really dirty, just stinky.  I think all the water problems we have needed to fix (still need the drinking water replaced) affected the dishwasher.   I've also noticed the washing machine doesn't smell musty anymore.

Well!  I will now be moving to Canada.  And I will not be going by way of Iowa.  I hope there is a total news blackout in Ireland, or we may never see DR elmore again!

Good Evening!

The beaches were fun. We started off at Coronado del Mar, then headed to La Jolla for a few hours. Of course, I somehow managed to find the ice cream, chocolate and cupcake shops without the aid of my iPhone. ;)

I went out this afternoon and attended a barbecue with a group of theater friends.  I had not really done anything social since this whole health mess started, so it was good to get out.  Unfortunately, after about three hours I was in a lot of pain, and had to leave.  But it was still nice to get out.

Oh I think I'll use this again.  We have hard water and even with a water softener, sometimes there is a build up. It's totally gone using this stuff

I am just glad that I managed to make it out in public and home again without soiling my pants.

No, I don't like any of the candidates, don't plan to meet them.   They have all been in town, though

I assume that is a cooking show, but it sounds more like a slasher movie.

It's a cooking show on HGTV.  I love it.  They get a basket with mystery ingredients and have a certain amount of time to come up with an appetizer, then an entree, then a dessert  one contestant is chopped each round until you have the winner.   There are always some bizarre ingredients.  It's lots of fun

It is so strange that you can pretty well walk up and meet any of the candidates that interest you; but by the time they visit Washington, they all have Secret Services agents and entourages, so you can't even get a handshake unless you are one of the party faithful.
