THE START OF A NEW ADVENTURE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were an adventure, albeit not exactly new, and now it is time for you to post until the adventurous cows come home.

TOD: I have been for about three days without food, thinking it would work as a diet. That was more than 20 years ago. it didn't.

Now that I have diabetes, going without food for any extended time period is not healthy for me.

Hmmm, my Michele Bachmann crazy-eyes sort-of-parody (but with my own song about eyes) is not setting the view count afire, but a pro-Obama site did pick it up, which is nice that anyone at all even found it.

http://obama-2012-campaign-report.info/obama/i-look-into-those-eyes-michele-bachmann-crazy-eyes-controversy-parody/

seems to be an ad on that page, but that ad has nothing to do with me  :)

That's pretty funny, Fred, but then I listened to the song without watching the video and it's quite a lovely song.  Did you write it for some other project?

Thanks so much, George!

It's an edited version of an engagement/wedding song I wrote for a show.  If anyone's interested in the serious full-length version,

Very nice, Fred. :)

Today's Topic of the Day:  I don't think that I've ever gone on an extended period of time without food...at least, not that I can remember.

TOD : Same as George.  Unless I was very sick and couldn't keep food down, I've had food.  Maybe I've gone a day or something, but not real extended period

I have to pick a client up for a probation meeting at 7:30 AM.   What an ungodly hour. It's so early he couldn't find another ride and since I have to be at the meeting, well, I figured I may as well give him a ride.

I have to stay up until midnight (Austin time) tonight.

At 11:30, I'm doing Gregg Hunter's radio show, "The World of Entertainment".  It will probably be a half-hour interview to promote the new book.

I enjoy doing these talks with Gregg, but I'm usually in bed and asleep by 11.

If you're on the West Coast, I'll be on at 9:30...if I'm still awake.

 :)

TOD:

The longest I ever went without food?

Probably when I was in the hospital, after I had my gall bladder removed.

I don't think I ate anything for 2-3 days.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I will fast for 24 hours every couple of months when I feel I need to reset my system. Sometimes I'll go for 48 hours. It really is a case/game of mind over matter, and I gain a nice sense of satisfaction when I complete it. It's nice to know that I DO have some will power.

I've also done a 10-day juice fast. Again, it was more of a mental game than anything else. However, I did do some mental preparation before I started the fast. I do not fast "cold turkey".

Good morning, all! I have checked in, caught up, and now I am off to breakfast.

DR Jose, Dublin uses euros. The American dollar sucks. The exchange rate is pathetic.

Maybe Michelle Bachmann and her straght husband can remedy the situation when theiy're First Ladies.

We are back from a relaxing and wonderful weekend in Poughkeepsie, where we had no internet or television.

It rained almost nonstop yesterday including on the train ride back to NYC. It's supposed to rain today as well. It's cool and grey outside at 6:02am.

Yes, as Larry said, the Irish use the Euro. They changed from the pound (English) or punt Éireannach (Irish) in 2002.

I'll be back to the office today.

It's been a busy set of weekends.

Two weekends ago I was in Michigan. This past weekend we were in Poughkeepsie and this weekend we will most likely spend on Long Island.

Bye for now.

I'm off to explore Dublin! I thought I'd try my walk down to the National; Concert Hall, where we will record, stopping along the way at shops for postcards and sundries.

I'm meeting around 3pm an actor friend of my Dublin flight aisle-mate David. His name is Karl Harpur and his brother knows our production company from singing in RIVERDANCE. Tonight at 8:30, I'll meet Joe and Jonathan, our Dublin production team, and visit with them.

DR Jose, I liked much of PILLARS OF THE EARTH better than the mini-series. The novel's ending with the canonization of Thomas Beckett was a wonderful conclusion and a good lead in to THE CANTERBURY TALES. It's quite a good novel.

I've now begun an exploration into Zola's Rougon-Macquart novels; I'd read NANA, but I'm starting with L'ASSOMOIR, and I brought NANA to reread if I finish the other. I just added to my Amazon wish list the novels in the series LE BETE HUMAINE, GERMINAL, LE DEBACLE, and one about a Paris department store. The fight to the finish in a slum washroom was a fantastic opening in L'ASSOMOIR.

I'm off to terrorize Dublin.

Ben, I envy your weekends off. The escapes sound wonderful, especially the no Internet part. I think I would suffer severe withdrawals.
