Well unless they changed it back again to the wrong version, the bad headline is still there:

In other news, if you go to Playbill.com right now, there's a rather unfortunate and unforgivable spelling error in the headline of the second story.

SPOO!!!

I guess I missed it; or they already corrected it.

Nope, it's still there..

Ok, time to go.  The sun is now shining and I need to return something to WalMart and then I think I'll go to my favorite Mexican restaurant and enjoy lunch and read the paper.  I have lots to do but am having trouble getting started.

Great day yesterday.
7am meeting and  breakfast.
Surf memorabilia and new surf related art at the museum.
Great music and venues at the gay pride festival.
Nap.
Great music at the block party down the street.

After laundry today back to the block party down the street.

The headliner for the day is Dick Dale.  They say the best surf guitarist ever.

I think i missed most of the surf craze, i was too young for the Beach Boys and just not that interested in surfers.  Or so i remember.

The neighborhood is busy, a different religion on every corner for blocks.  Lots and lots of conversations to listen to when your windows are open.

Hope everything is ok after the storm

We're fine; but when the workers return to the construction site at the corner, they may be displeased;

The 11 people who have died (so far) would probably argue with anyone's assessment of this not being a major weather event.

I wonder if in the assessment of the earthquake and the hurricane on the East Coast, too much weight is being given to the posters on All That Chat.

Someone in the neighborhood is trimming trees, which is fine - except that it has now been going on for over two hours!!

I shall offer a somewhat perverse observation:

In balance, the "major weather event'" actually saved lives;the lives lost to "weather" were a lot fewer than the lives saved by the reduction in transportation accidents.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone here or elsewhere who doesn't understand that the storm caused deaths and havoc - not in NEW YORK, however.  What some of us are commenting on is the hysteria of the press in continuing to try and make a mountain out of what was most assuredly a small hill in NEW YORK.  It's the same old, same old with these people.  We all understand that elsewhere the storm caused death and problems.  The deaths I've read about, at least, all could have been avoided if people had not gotten into their cars or been walking on the streets during the biggest part of the problem.  Trees falling on cars - it's not too smart to be in a car during a hurricane that has had a LOT of publicity (no surprises).  A man walking in a hurricane killed by a falling tree - why would anyone be walking in a hurricane?  It's all regrettable, but one feels that some of the death could have been avoided.
