Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And we still have power and water, and it's just drizzling outside right now. -In fact, the sun is supposed to come out in a few hours. I guess it is tomorrow. ::)

Hmmm, and it's raining and the thunder is booming and the wind is blowing....hey, I'm in Iowa, what's up with this?   Actually the rain right now isn't going to be enough to do a lot of good, but my yard and trees are smiling

Thanks to all for the vibes for my sister.....and of course I send vibes to DR DRUXY for kitty Annie.

News at my house is that parakeet Abby was found deceased this morning on the bottom of her cage.....no apparent cause of demise.....  She tried to get under the paper towels on the bottom of her cage and hide herself in her last minutes, I surmise.  She was covered as usual....and was fine all day yesterday.

And now she is a little brass box out in the Pet Semetary with many other animals.

So sorry to hear about Abby~~~

I stayed up late reading thinking that I could sleep in today....the weather radio went off before 8:00 with a thunderstorm warning, so I got up, made some pancakes and waited out the brief storm that of course lost it's severe status as soon as I was totally awake....so...thinking about going back to bed....I'll read a little and take a nap.

Or, go get some coffee and just be up for the day....I'm thinking the nap idea may win

Thanks DerB for taking down the photo. I really do appreciate it.   I'm also really glad you're back here posting again.   Hope everything is ok after the storm

Things are calm and quiet in our neck of the woods.

There is flooding in other parts of the city and some residual damage, trees down, etc. but generally it just rained. There is flooding out on Long Island but not in Anthony's parents area.

We will stay in today though we may decided to go to the diner for dinner later if the weather is decent.

We watched the final season of Doc Martin on Hulu.

They are filming Season 5 right now according to scuttlebutt on the internet. I'm looking forward to it.

My office will be open tomorrow though I'm sure it will be quiet. We have lots of people who live on Long Island and in New Jersey and the outer boroughs and I think they will probably not be able to get in tomorrow.

...And I'm back from breakfast: Green Chile Pork, Eggs Over Easy and Fresh Tortillas - with a side of Red Chile to make it "Christmas style"!

And the wind it is a blowin' and a gustin'... And there's a downed tree just on the way out of my brother's housing development. Thankfully, it didn't hit anyone or anything. It also looked like it was gonna come down regardless sometime, just old and already rotted before it hit the ground from what I could tell.

We had scrambled eggs, a blueberry scone (split, one half for each of us) and fresh strawberries. Anthony had tea with honey and I had coffee.

As Bruce would say, yummylicious!

Are we in the eye of the storm now? Or is it over?

I have to go into Toyland tomorrow and check out the scene.

In other news, if you go to Playbill.com right now, there's a rather unfortunate and unforgivable spelling error in the headline of the second story.

The eye - or rather what was left of it - is already in New England. I believe it made a fast by NYC around 10:00am.

The New York Times has a cool hurricane tracker map.

*It needs to be updated. ;)

The MTA is also posting pics of the clean-up efforts going on in the subway yards. It's gonna take a while to pump all of that water out.

Can you imagine Ethel Merman in CALL ME BWANA, instead of Anita Ekberg?

I'm up after a decent night's sleep.  Can one of you Mac experts tell me why my iTunes is just suddenly starting to play music all by its lonesome?  I was answering e-mails and it just started up - I stopped the track.  A few minutes later it started up again.  I closed out of iTunes.

Didn't Anita Ekberg once live in Clifton Webb's Hollywood home?  It seems like I remember her claiming that it was haunted by Mr. Webb.

Reading the reportage of the "hurricane" in NYC is amusing.  They have nothing to really report so they've resorted to a lot of "if this happened, this could happen," and "streets were flooded with water reaching the tires of cars" accompanied by a photograph of a car with water barely touching the bottom of the tires.  Then they kind of sheepishly admit that the thing is probably done.

And the word of the day is: HOMOLOGATE!

Is that about the Congressman in the airport bathroom?  Or am I confused?  I know that airports do have gates.

A Ph.D, in mythology and folklore.  That sounds so strange to me.
