Also had a call from Miss Cindy Williams - hadn't spoken to her in ages - we're talking again on Friday evening and then, of course, I'll see her at the Ray Courts show, where I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun and be able to sup, perhaps even with Penny and Henry (Marshall and Winkler).

Since it is ASK BK DAY

Why is the Ray Courts Chicago Show listing you and Cindy as a Reunion Special for THE CREATURE WASN'T NICE, but not for FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL?

Because apparently the man who runs the show doesn't hear well or read well - I told him we did BOTH Nudie and Creature.

ASK BK DAY, Part Two

Will the Blu-ray version of NUDIE be ready for the Ray Courts Show?

I wish, but it's doubtful.  Once I approve the authored disc, then it goes to the pressing plant, but we haven't even turned in the print yet.

I think I would have preferred Catherine Zeta-Jones.  Jennifer Garner is what?  30?

Just had to share this clip of DR elmore's beloved Rebecca Luker:

I think she's even better here than on the Music Man Cast Album.

Funny, Modern Family opened with a scene showing how badly Gloria (Sofia Vergara) sings.   A couple of years ago she was cast as Mama Morton (!) in Chicago, the Musical,  opposite our own Mr. Barrett.

DR Elmore - I hope you and Charlotte enjoy THE HELP.  Have you read the book?

That was going to be my question.  I'm wondering what people who have read the book think of the movie.

Well, I watched the movie thinking how glad I was I'd read the book first,

Is that because you felt much was left out of the movie?  Often when I have read a book I fill in the missing pieces for Keith while we are watching the movie.

Jose-- I meant to mention how funny it was at Oklahoma Sunday when the kid in the audience made a "eewww" sound when the leads kissed!  "Curly" was laughing a little, but from what I could tell, "Laurie" didn't change her expression.

And now I need to accomplish some thing offline...

Thank you for reminding me I need to send flowers to my mother-in-law.

Is today your mother-in-law's birthday, Laura?

Sunday. They don't deliver on weekends, so the delivery will be made Friday.

Does anyone have an opinion of the US remake of "Prime Suspect?"  Maria Bello is playing the lead role that Helen Mirren played.  I never watched the original, so I don't have an opinion.

My niece started grade one today. She is has her best friend from kindgarten in her class. And 2 other girls she was friendly with from her class. Plus one of her soccer friends. And she supposedly has the best teacher (there are 5 classes for grade 1).

It is very complicated for them to put the 5 kindergarten classes and make them into 5 new grade one classes.  Usually each class gets 2 girls and 2 boys from their kindergarten class. But 2 of my nieces other best friends both got no girls from their previous class. And one of the moms was quite upset about it.

I don't blame her. My niece's class had 4 girls from kindergarten. And these 2 girls get nobody. They were friends. Why not put them in the same class?

I'm glad it worked out well for your niece.

I'm happy too. But i feel bad for the other girls.

Can never resist a parody lyric for a DANCING WITH THE STARS cast announcement :)  (update on the one I put in the Times comment box)

tune of GYPSIES TRAMPS AND THIEVES

He was born to the stars of a CBS show
His Mama used to set stage and screen all aglow
Papa was in Congress, did best that he could
Now Chaz is in the spotlight
He will be a winner even if he’s not good

Stiff knees, cramps and heaves
They’ll get ‘em while they’re dancin’ in the fall
They’re knowin’
Each week someone leaves
That’s when they wait for the audience to call
All for a mirror ball

Up against stars like David Arquette
Also Ricki Lake, that’d sure make me sweat
Even two pros from the world of sports
Nancy Grace gets hostile
Wouldn’t mess with her if she gets out of sorts

Stiff knees, cramps and heaves
Hey, look there's Carson Kressley in the hall
And Chynna
Each week someone leaves
That’s when they wait for the audience to call
All for a mirror ball
;D

I would watch Maria Bello in almost anything, but as Jane Tennyson? Even an American one? As long as they're not too slavish to the original, it should be OK. As spectacular as Mirren was, the writing was as much of a star as she was.

And it doesn't help that the director is completely wrong-headed.  I stopped making suggestions.....his reasons for not accepting them are as dumb as his reasons for doing things the way he is....so I give up.

It IS a funny play.....but it could be hilarious.....it was the LAST TIME we did it, when I had a bigger part.  I don't even get me started on the "improvements" he has made in the script.

AARRGGHH!!  I feel your pain.  I did a show where one of the actors decided to "improve" Joyce Carol Oates!  How do you "improve" Joyce Carol Oates??
????? That's a bummer.  >:(

September 29.
I feel your pain.

I decided to get a new doctor's opinion on my diabetes, but I really hate the insulin. Called two weeks ago. First available appointment: Sept. 23.

Had a nice lunch meeting that eventually could yield some interesting projects for Kritzerland.  Then I went to my engineer's and we finessed the mix of Melodyland - it sounds wonderful now - I made some little cuts and I'm pleased with it.  Melody has to now come in and add one short line of patter that she forgot (it's an important joke set-up) and fix a lyric she got wrong - just two lines.
When will you be offering it for sale?

Richard just read in a magazine that there's a new Miss Marple series in the works with guess-who cast as the spunky elderly detective...

Catherine Zeta-Jones or Brittney Spears

Almost, DR TCB...
Not Debra Messing!
