I've also been in restaurants where friends have found undesirables in their food. One friend found a bit of steel wool. The manager explained how they use steel wool to drain the lettuce. (??) IIRC, that was at Mario's in Westwood, which BK and Jane may remember. It used to be quite a popular restaurant.

Ron, when I was staying with a friend in Florida I was in a somewhat similar situation. His standards of cleanliness were not the same as mine and he didn't want me "helping." I tried to find a compromise between what I would like and what he would accept. He was OK with that.

I suspect your neighbor might be a bit embarrassed, but won't really object. She may even appreciate it.

Today I stopped in at the adoptions center. Kim the Mom Cat has been adopted; Meezie (the Siamese) was still there.

They gave me some advice on ways to get Feathers' tummy trouble solved, so he and Shades should be able to go back to adoptions next week.

I certainly don't plan on mentioning it. If asked, I'll feign surprise. Perhaps they'll think "they" left it clean after all (although a look around the rest of the place would certainly belie THAT notion).

When I was brought down to get the lay of the land, so to speak (since it had been a couple of years since I'd been in the condo), I was asked to excuse the "clutter." I can deal with clutter. I understand it, especially when two people are merging households.

But it's not clutter that coated the countertops, that besoils the floor, etc., etc. It was the total lack of cleaning up behind oneself that has been going on for a LONG while. Deep soil, as it were. The light switch and socket plates are coated with grime and grease. It's sad. I'll tackle those items next...but I won't clean the walls!

I'm also deleting "game" friends (aka folks who play games I play but aren't really "friends") from my FaceBook page. I've terminated all my game playing (yes, Cilla, even FrontierVille which has somehow been morphed into Pioneer Trail). Mafia Wars, FarmVille and FrontierVille are all ZAPPED from my life. I stopped playing a few months back just to see if I would miss any of it. OF course, "friends" who are friends from other associations are not being deleted.

Call me zany, call me misguided, call me a dreamer, but I've really enjoyed NOT playing. And I've been using my time watching more of the movies I wasn't getting watched and listening to music that wasn't getting listened to.

I've diverted my path, yet again, and regained the road I prefer travelling.

It was good, especially the garlic bread. I never knew anyone who found an unwanted surprise, but then we usually got the pizza.
