I've been on the phone with the company that's replicating Nudie on Blu and Ray.  Filling out some forms for them, etc.  There is a really slight possibility that I could have discs in time to bring with me to the Chicago show, which would be incredible.

That would be great

My apologies, Jack. To update you, I stopped by my local Dollar Tree a week or so ago. I found the lightbulbs and dog stuff--neither of which I realized they carried--but no CDs. I did learn that there's another DT not too far away, which one day I'll have to check out.

I will PM you with my address. Thanks so much!!

Health vibes to DR Jeanne.

Those of you here who are fans of DOC MARTIN may already know that there were two DOC MARTIN movies prior to the TV series. I watched the first of the two (2001) last night. It's quite charming. The Doc is not exactly stuffy, as he is in the TV show; he's--ahem--more relaxed. Highly recommended for Doc Martin fans.

I thought Doc Martins were a brand of shoes?

I am cat-sitting for one of my condo neighbors this long Labor Day week (started Tuesday and ends Sunday).  Thus far, I've not seen "Miss Vee" (or "Baby Girl") as she is shy and hides under her mistress' bed.

Any suggestions?

Wow, that is a tough one, Ron.  I don't think I would risk taking the cat to your place.

I don't think he really can considering the cat is under the bed ;)  I have checked on shy cats before & the only way I knew they were around, and alive, was that the food was gone & the litter box used.  I didn't see either cat any of the days I was there.

Great photo of your grand dog.

Thank you.  He is wearing the Phillies bandanna I purchased for him.

I've also been in restaurants where friends have found undesirables in their food. One friend found a bit of steel wool. The manager explained how they use steel wool to drain the lettuce. (??) IIRC, that was at Mario's in Westwood, which BK and Jane may remember. It used to be quite a popular restaurant.

It was good, especially the garlic bread.  I never knew anyone who found an unwanted surprise, but then we usually got the pizza.

Well, pizza is fine, unless you ordered Linguine!

Wow, Deb!!!

I'm glad you're getting through. I hope you got my e-mail for Vix with more info on the e-readers. If you haven't been on line since Sunday you probably have a ton of mail to sort through.

Hugs to you!

We are spending the Labor Day weekend in Manhattan. Not because of the leftover problems from Irene but because for the past few weeks we have been here and there and everywhere so we're staying put this weekend. Although we are going to Astoria on Sunday for Greek food. Anthony did a favor for our upstairs neighbor and he wouldn't take money so our neighbor is taking us out for dinner. His partner is Greek and they know a very good place in Astoria (which has a large Greek population). Stuffed grape leaves here we come.

No positive news about working at home.  Well, no bad news either, but I was hoping for good.

I stayed the entire day at work, mostly because I had to go back to see Indira Gandhi for a follow-up appointment  I am very exhausted this evening, and I am in a lot of pain.  I don't know if I will go to work tomorrow.

You and me both.  But I have already put in the entire 8 hours that my doctor wants me to work.  Of course, my doctor hasn't offered to pay my bills.

Regarding Robyn Gardner who disappeared in Aruba (and is presumed to be dead), I have one question.   Can't the news media find any pictures of that woman that don't make her look like a slut?
