DR Elmore - Rob and Mary Linda took the train to Toronto this evening and will be there all week.  As for after their honeymoon, he will be here with us and she will be with her parents until her commitment to her employer is fulfilled in the latter part of October.  Rob starts his paramedic job in Cincinnati on Sept. 13.  Their goal is to set up housekeeping at the beginning of November.

Richard and I resumed custody of my Mom from my sister after breakfast this morning.  When we left the hotel at 11am, we took her on a short drive around the Michigan state capitol and headed for Mary Linda's parents' house.  Rob and ML were there, chilling between checking out of their hotel and heading to Windsor to catch their train.  They opened presents and her mom served a fabulous lunch of reception leftovers.  Richard and Mom and I left there about 2:30.

Toronto? Really?

Yes, really...

It's actually a pretty popular destination for Michiganders who live within easy driving distance of Detroit/Windsor.  My parents took the train to Toronto for getaways several times after I'd moved to Ohio.

Tomorrow I have a physical at 2:00 PM.   I guess that means I have to fast all day.  Think I'll head a good meal tonight. I'm thinking about whipping up a batch of chili.  It's cool weather, supposed to get into the 40s again tonight....chili weather.

A big batch of chili, the night before your physical....  Your doctor will be thrilled.

Actually, that didn't happen.  I decided to look in the garage storage room for something as I was getting ready to go to the store.   I started looking in boxes that have been out there since I moved in here and found a bunch of treasures that have been packed up for years.  SO, I ended up bringing a number of boxes in, sorting through them and putting away the treasures.  It was really cool .   I didn't have dinner until 9:00.....a big bowl of chicken noodle soup.

Tried to ride a bicycle today for the 1st time in 30 years, stopped in the bushes and stubbed my toe.

Much practice needed before any long rides.  :-[

Will the doctor be drawing blood?  I give at the hospital so I go one morning when it is convenient for me.  Last time I went prior to my doctor's appointment which I plan to do from now on.

We are not allowed to go for our blood work prior to the physical.  The insurance comapny refuses to pay unless the lab work is ordered during the physical.

Silly because then they might have to pay for the return visit to the doctor to discuss the results.

Mine have to be ordered too. I do it at the doctor's office, though.  I'm just planning to fast, but if I get too hungry, I'll go back another day. Won't be the first time I've had to do that.  My doctor just calls me and tells me the results.

I think it's a shame the newlyweds cannot live together until November.

DR Laura, they knew this was a possibility all along and are level-headed enough to realize that jobs are very important.

One "interesting" thing about my trip to Atlanta this upcoming weekend...

Since I did not want to call out of five more shows this week, I went ahead and booked my flight to Atlanta for Saturday morning. Early Saturday morning.

My flight leaves at 5:45am. Gets in at 7:50am. And I start playing at 10:00am. -Whew!

Needless to say, I'll be asking for Fair Weather and Timely Travel Vibes at the end of this week.
