Good morning.  How did I get to be first after BK, even though it's already almost 7 A.M.?
and I went grocery shopping after driving the Vixter to college  (her classes start at 6:30 AM)

If my classes had begun at 6:30, I would have flunked out the first term. I still have dreams that I'm taking a final in a classs I never attended.

I have that dream sometimes

Well, I just called my sister's boyfriend to see if my computer's done and it is!  Somehow, somewhere, some box got checked and when he unchecked it, everything was back to normal, Internet-access-wise.

Hoo and Ray! :D

Today they finally came in and replaced the board in the copy machine.  Lo and behold it now scans and works beautifully.  After about 10 days of misery it's much better.

Has anyone seen a production of YANKEE TAVERN by Stephen Dietz?   They're doing it at a local theater and I think I'll go Friday.

DR John G I'm glad you haven't missed any work.  What happened with the fire.  ???
Two firefighters were injured, but no one in the apartment complex was hurt. It took awhile in this drought-riddled area to get it under control, but enough fire companies and trucks showed up to get it under control.

Kristin Chenowith in On the Twentieth Century on Broadway.  :P

Discuss.
One of my all-time favorite scores. I think it she put on a pound or two, she would be wonderful in the role. Hugh Jackman did a reading with her, but I bet he won't commit to it, good as he would be. I'd love to see Kevin Kline play Oscar.

Horrible story in the New York Times, Elmore. Just amazing how ugly some people are. That was topped, as if such a thing needs to be topped, by my ignoramus of a governor going to a university today and bragging about his stupidity, as if that made him qualified to be president. America is already slipping from in terms of technological and scientific advancement. We don't need somebody who has destroyed the state's school system to take on the rest of the nation. Rant ended.

Good Evening!

Well...

When I walked out from the walkaround onto the stage earlier tonight, I noticed that most of the East section was empty. I said to myself, "That bus must be lost."  Thankfully, a bus did pull up to the theatre right before the curtain. Whew!

Otherwise, it was another good performance for a relatively small but very appreciate and vocal audience. Just 26 more to go...

I think it's a relatively good fit. However, what I'm most interested in is who will be cast opposite and around her... And whether the producers of the it-was-just-mentioned-on-"The-View" revival, will revise the book to focus it all on her character.

Frankly, I'd still love to see Coco with Christine Baranski.

I wonder if this is damage control or just more free publicity:

Gershwin and Heyward Estates Greenlight The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess for Broadway

Quote
"I believe that the changes incorporated in this new version preserve DuBose's and Dorothy's intentions, while enhancing the portrayal of the story's characters and instilling a pace that maintains excitement from beginning to end," said Albert J. Cardinali of The DuBose and Dorothy Heyward Memorial Fund in a statement.

...

Michael Strunsky of The Ira and Leonore S. Gershwin Trusts, added the following statement: "…I would like to congratulate the team behind the American Repertory Theater's production of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess (which, incidentally, has been the trademarked title for all productions performed over the past fifteen years)…They have taken the heart of the piece and adapted it to the conventions of contemporary musical theatre and the result is an exhilarating and stunning theatrical experience."

I'm just wondering how much work will be done between now and when they start previews in January. Something tells me there's going to be a lot. But I could be wrong.

Well, I guess that is enough "kitsch and kulture" for one day...although I am certain that the majority, if not all, HHWers skipped right past it anyway.

Skipped over what? I didn't see any "kitsch and kulture". ;)

Good morning.  How did I get to be first after BK, even though it's already almost 7 A.M.?
and I went grocery shopping after driving the Vixter to college  (her classes start at 6:30 AM)

WHAT?!?!? Her classes start at 6:30am? -I'm guessing - hoping - that's some sort of physical education class? and not a sit-a-desk-looking-at-a-book-and-listening-to-a-teacher class. -I'm just trying to think any teacher-friends of mine who would teach at 6:30am. ::)

On Tuesdays and Thursdays its Philosophy - I forget what it is on Monday and Wednesday  I think it is some sort of music course - on Fridays she has PE :  Social Dance  and it doesn't start until 10 and that is her only class that day I believe

Well... Something tells me there are a lot of Starbucks cups attending that class too. ;)
