Fun day of visiting friends in Albany, whom I hadn't seen in too long. Scott and Betsy used to live in San Antonio, where she was my dance partner in competitions. We all covered a bit of Ireland a few eyars ago when we danced there. Interesting what people remember and what they forget from trips. We were filling in each others' memory lapses of nights in strange hotels and trips through Irish graveyards.

With all the talk about the satellite falling to earth and maybe hitting someone reminds me a the SHOWTIME TV series Dead Like Me. Where the lead characters is killed by a toilet seat from skylad that falls to earth and she becomes a grim reaper

Or Grant Goodeve's charactor on NORTHERN EXPOSURE who is killed by a satellite.

Grant Goodeve has a local travel program on one of our Seattle TV stations.  I think it is called NORTHWEST BACKROADS.

Did the four-mile jog - chilly and gray today but the sun is trying to shove its way into existence.  Then I went and had some Matzo Brei and signed two hundred sleeves for Nudie Musical - all told it took about thirty-five minutes, so it won't be too bad for Cindy later today.  We're going to put Nudie up for preorder either today or tomorrow, so those here who would like a signed one will have a jump on others.

Damn!

Gee, I have been gone for four hours and we only have a half a page more of posts.  What is going on around here?  You would think it was a Saturday afternoon.

The memorial service was quite lovely.  The photo montage that opened the service was one of the best I have ever seen done.  And the final musical number of the service was THE LORD'S PRAYER sung by the deceased.

Oh, and that the conclusion of the service, we all went out to the lawn next to the chapel for a release of doves.  Milt's wife released a single dove symbolizing Milt ascending to heaven; and that was followed by a release of many doves by Milt's daughters symbolizing the eventual ascension of all of us.

Unfortunately, I'm not having dinner with Kevin and Larry. We are not able to meet them. I'll be seeing Kevin tomorrow at the BCEFA Flea Market. I wish I could see Larry because I want to hear about Dublin but we will have to wait for another time.

Curse you, DR Ben! I was looking forward to visiting with you, too! You missed a wonderfuland scintillating evening of sparkling conversation and dish. I did have a great time with our DR Kevin H. We shared a deelish pizza and salad at John's Pizzeria.

Oh and there should have been one grey dove that stayed in his cage to symbolize my friend Jerry who was busy cruising the Marine Honor Guard.

Was there a dry eye in the house?

I'm glad it was a good service.

Combo ordered. Now what do I do about a Blu-Ray non-regional player?

I bought the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS withdrawn DVD about two years before I had my first player.

I'm glad it was a good service.

It was a pretty emotional service, so Milt's singing THE LORD'S PRAYER was just the topper.  There is something about weddings and funerals of theater people.  They really know how to go for the gut.

It was taken from the video of Tracy's marriage ceremony..  That was back in 1989, so he was still in pretty good voice.

And I guess that the reading of the letter that I did went okay.  There was a big stunned silence afterwards.  I don't know what I was expecting, but stunned silence wasn't it.

Oh and the opening song by the soloist was YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE, so everybody was already in tears by then.

Everyone must have been so moved they needed a moment of silence.

Actually, my reading of the letter was done at the reception.  Milt's wife wanted all of the personal rememberaces to be part of the reception, rather than at the service.  So, I read the letter and then opened the floor to personal memories.  Considering how much ham was at the reception, people were a bit shy about getting up and speaking.

And speaking of ham, I didn't eat at the reception.  I never like to eat before I perform and after I had finished I was in so much pain that all I wanted to do was go home and take my pain pills.

Good.

DR Kevin H, the concert on Oct 17  is with Maureen Brennan and George Dvorsky, not Brent, I was wrong.

I know you are all probably pretty tired of seeing my photos of monarchs... but this is one of the ones that was tagged and released today. It flew right over to the milkweed in front of me for just a second:
