Elmore, do you mean about Lilah and her demands that I change seats?

That whole group wasn't there at the first show of the season. We are hoping they all moved (and not that they just skipped that show).

I was referring to your conflicts in the past year with her.

Good morning!

I'm hoping a computer-savvy DR can help me with my laptop (I'm writing this on my netbook).  The cursor (arrow) will not move.  At first it disappeared completely.  I turned the computer off and on a couple of times.  I hit F8 (based on what I read some where).  I don't know what else to do.  Any suggestions?

I'm also doing laundry and getting ready to do a cardio-walk in the basement.  Too cold and blustery outside today!

Problem solved! I called Toshiba and was told there's a little button under the spacebar that turns the arrow on and off. I must have hit it by mistake. Foolish me!

Off to UPS to pick up a package.  I have to remember to take a jacket--the high is only 60 today!

Greetings from Toyland!

I've accomplished what I need to do here, and I will eat my sandwich and then head home.

The very, Very, VERY (that's three verys) good thing was getting to see Lorna Luft's, "Songs My Mother Taught Me."  WOW!  She can sing and belt it out with the best of 'em.  She does sound older than when she was in "Jerry Herman's Broadway at the Hollywood Bowl," but that was almost 20 years ago.  Anyway, the show was about an hour and 45 minutes long and she was fabulous.  It was real, live singing...and NO AUTOTUNE!  And only one "keyboard."  And a six-piece brass section.  And all live musicians!  She only left the stage once, about an hour in, to change her outfit.  She walked off stage, the band played for just a couple of minutes and then all of a sudden, she came back on in a new outfit.  The house was not completely sold out, but still fairly full.  But they all loved the show.  She got the best applause after "Time Heals Everything" (who knew?) and "The Man That Got Away" (not a surprise).  She also got a very well deserved standing ovation at the end of the show.

Highly recommended by the likes of me! ;D

George, I am glad that you enjoyed Lorna's performance.  I saw her nightclub debut back in 1972(?) in San Francisco at the Top of the Mark, or the Bottom of the Phillip, or someplace like that.  Little brother, Joey Luft was sitting at a table near us, but Liza was absent.  At the time, she never mentioned her mother by name.  I think the only reference was for her encore she did MAMA A RAINBOW (from MINNIE'S BOYS).  As she was holding the last note and the spotlight was beginning to fade; the piano started to play OVER THE RAINBOW..  This was only a couple of years after Judy had died, and it was San Francisco; so the audience went crazy.

I worked with her on the GIRL CRAZY recording and she was not the brightest bulb in the lamp. Friendly, but dim. I think that others were unhappy that we had to lower Merman's keys for her as well. I won't mention who cast her; I'll only say I didn't.

Today is barbecue and movie with my guy.   He's so sweet.  Really got lucky.

I think the movie i'm taking over will be  Fifth Element.

I also take at least 2 cd's every week, getting him used to music being on, especially when he's alone at home.

He made the mistake of saying he needed something to do when the house is quite and alone, the only word out of my mouth was "music".

It's what keeps me sane.  ;)

The windows and drapes are open, another beautiful sunny and warm day at the beach.   I love it here.  It's worth the 120 mile drive 5 days a week, to and from work.  Just to be here on the weekend.
