Sunday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I are back from Lima (Ohio, not Peru),  where we had a very small crowd for church.  We went to Panera for lunch and ordered some bagels and pastries for the coffee hour that we're hosting after next Saturday's service in which Holy Nativity will be designated our diocesan pro-cathedral, making Richard the Dean.

Holy Nativity?  Wasn't she a stripper with Tempest Storm?  Oh wait, that was Holly Nativity.

I'm not familiar with this.  Is it a special honor for Richard?

Well, it probably won't make too much difference in his worklife, but it's an honor.  When he got his doctorate, I pictured him maybe an academic dean, but not dean of a cathedral...

I guess it really HAS been 6 and a half years since we gathered in NYC for Jewish Thighs on Broadway - hard to believe!

No wonder we all feel like family, we have been together forever!

DR JOHNG - that's a LOT of money.

Yes DR MBARNUM - I would suggest nice trousers for the matinee.....
And who's going to buy him those damned long pants? Sorry, MBarnum, the Jerry Herman in me just took over.

DR John G - Um, DR MBarnum will most likely ask, "Jerry 'who'? Was he the cute extra in the background of the drag race scene in "I Married A Hot Rodder"?"

;D

Was that Jerry Herman?

TCB, I'm so sorry to hear your surgeon's visit went so badly. I really hoped you'd be getting some relief soon. It angers me the way patients are treated sometimes, too. There is just no excuse for it. I hope relief is coming soon.

Thanks Jeanne.  The thing that angers me the most is that "the miracle worker surgeon" wasted three months of my time for nothing.

Good morning, all! I slept lste, much later than I had intended, but I blame it on the meds: yesterday morning, in a fit of mental distraction I tok my evening meds, so around 6 pm last night I took the morning ones, one of which is hydrochlorothiazide, for high blood pressure and water retention. As a result I was up half of the night running to the bathroom. Oy!

I have had to stop taking my hydrochlorothiazide, because this imaginary (in my head) spinal stenosis has caused me to have bladder control problems.  The restroom at work is on the other side of the office.  And wetting my pants at work is not something I wish to do.

I'm sure the stress of your "imaginary" condition isn't helping your blood pressure.  I looked up the "imaginary" condition & didn't really find too many comments that it is in one's head.  Were you told your current problem could be a side effect of the surgeries?  They were so long ago it is difficult you would suddenly imagine these problems.

CONTINUED VIBES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank Jane.  No, I was never told about any possible side effects at the time.

The reading I did didn't suggest it was in your head, TCB. It suggested it was because of prior surgeries.

I'm back from the live Phantom screening.  It was really great!  Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess were magnificent.  Sierra's rendition of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" was flawless, IMO.  I'm so glad this will be released on DVD.

I guess this is what I initially found, "The phenomenon of accelerated adjacent segment degeneration is still debated by spine specialists worldwide. We are of the belief that it does exist. "

That doesn't mean it's all in your head. They said the same thing about fibromyalgia. They know now it is real.

SPOILER ALERT RE THE PHANTOM SCREENING:

After the show, Andrew Lloyd Webber came out to thunderous applause.  He thanked everyone involved and then introduced the creative team, led by Cameron MacIntosh.  Next came the original London company, including Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman.   Sarah then sang the title song accompanied by 4 former Phantoms.  The only one I recognized was Colm Wilkinson.  I saw on the credits that Anthony Warlow and John Owen-Jones were two more.   The "Phantoms" then sang "Music of the Night," with Ramin (tonight's Phantom) joining them.  Ramin sang the last line of the song directly to Michael Crawford, who seemed touched.    I wish I had been there in person, but this was the next best thing!

Which would be best:

There is no FED EX office locally.

DR MBarnum - You should long pants - not shorts - to the theatre. Even a nice pair of jeans. -What are you seeing at East-West?

I am seeing WIDOW OF NO IMPORTANCE.

I will take some long pants with me then. Hopefully it will not be too hot of a day as I want to mosey around Little Tokyo afterwards.

DR MBarnum, I agree with DR Jose about wearing pants to the theatre. But I think you should pack a pair regardless. It could be cool in the evenings.

Last night I watched the 1964 B movie RAIDERS FROM BENEATH THE SEA.

It was an interesting movie, but not nearly as exciting as the poster would suggest...

What about the bedroom scene?

Of all the things to notice on that poster, TCB! I am shocked.

PS: Ken Scott and Merry Anders did wear a minimum of clothing in a maximum of scenes.
