However...

My Dad just called to ask me to cancel their tickets for Sunday. He just took my
Mom to the doctor's office due to a really bad chest cold. I really hope it's just a chest cold.

I know this changes every hour or so, but at the moment, my play JOLSON is #3 in Amazon's Kindle Store "Theater: Playwriting" section.

I'm up - barely.  The telephonic device rang at nine, but I ignored it and fell back asleep and just got up.  I must now gather myself up and be on my way to LACC.

Vibes to those who need them.

Ben (the DD) and I slept until 10:30, a much needed rest from the joys of tech week.

Speaking of vibes... the former DP (well, soon to be DP again as we've reconciled but are still living apart) anyway.... the DP just got a job as head Pastry Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto.  Today he goes in for the offer.  I wish him the best as he deserves this more than you know.  So, vibes for him would be awesome.  This is a great opportunity for him.

DR Jane's comments the other day about never being #1 on her library's reserved list reminded me of what happened to me today.

There is a book that came out this Tuesday (nov 1st). Somehow my library got it already and it's ready to go out. I reserved it march 21st. And today see I am #2.  At the time I reserved it this was a book i really wanted to read. I never figured that anybody would reserve it more than 7 months in advance. Although I won an arc (advanced reader's copy), so i read it a few weeks ago (so it doesn't matter). It's just you can never know how far in advance to reserve a book!

DR Jane (or anybody else who watches the MENTALIST, no spoilers).

Did you watch last night's show yet?  You must watch it immediately. So creepy! Excellent!

Good morning, all! This was my first mrning I could sleep late and so I did. I think I stumbled out of bed around 7:15. This morning, I guess we finish blocking the show and then deal with the music. The cast has a lot of memorization of text and notes. We've just got our first round of publicity:
http://www.islandpacket.com/2011/11/03/1851169/broadway-veterans-bring-the-sounds.html

So, today and tomorrow we finish up the show here. On Sunday our wonderful stage manager Meg runs the marathon, and on Monday morning I head south. I don't know what the computer situation will be in Hilton Head, so I may be E&T all week.

That's very nice, Larry!

Here it is. The names will be in reverse order. But I doubt much else will change.

That's great, John!  Congrats!

From DR Jennifer:
Quote
Are you never first because there are so many libraries that go in the same system?

Because I don't follow the latest book news anymore & don't usually request books early enough.  This one surprised me since the author seems to have a following.

There was a time, years & years ago, when I was regularly the first person to request a book.

In our system, the moment a book or DVD goes up on the computer system as having been ordered, it's fair game for reserve. Sometimes that could be months and months.
