I just got tickets for ec 21 matinee of the musical version of the wonderful Irish film ONCE at New York Theatre Workshop. They've extended the run to Jan 15, although it's mostly sold out through Dec 27.

Sounds like fun. I love the music in that movie.

Good Evening!

I'm back from a very good show. We had a very good audience. And we all had a very good time performing for said audience.

I'll let bk fill in the details.

My friend, Bess, is the stage manager for the production. I'm hoping she can squeeze me in when I'm back in NYC in two weeks.

*And it turns out that Alet's husband, Andy Taylor, is also in the show!

Strangely enough, the second - or maybe it was the third? - time I watched the movie, I came to appreciate the movie more than the music. ::)

In any case, I really am looking forward to seeing the stage production. The buzz has been great. So great, in fact, that there's already been talk of a transfer uptown.

DR Micheal S - Did you go to a doctor to get your colitis diagnosed? Colitis symptoms are similar to other gastro-intestinal problems. If you haven't had it officially checked out, be sure to consult a doctor before starting an elimination diet right away. Sometimes that "cold turkey" approach to stop eating the "bad stuff" can exacerbate other problems.

~~~~~HEALTH VIBES FOR DR MICHAEL S~~~~~~
Yes I have seen the doctor I had endoscopy, colonoscopy, catscans, blood tests, poop tests and one other.
I had food poisoning 1 year ago last week and I never really recovered from it. So the diagnosis was Ulcerative colitis .
I did a little more reading about the exclusion diet and I am going back to my doctor.
I had a very bad day today.
~~~~~VIBES FOR BETTER DAYS~~~~~

*The "Exclusion Diet" is usually used to help diagnose a food allergy and/or intolerance. You cut back your diet to the basics, and then start reintroducing different foods every couple of days, taking notice of any adverse reactions as each "new" food group is reintroduced.

Have they checked for Crohn's Disease? -Which, alas, still gets misdiagnosed.

Back from a really fun performance, although I had a frog in my throat that was really annoying and that wouldn't go away for the entire first act - I don't think anyone knew, and I got through my song all right, but I hate that.  My voice is weak right now, but hopefully by the matinee it will be back at somewhere approaching full strength.  Jose did the best he's done tonight and the audience (about a half-house) was friendly and fun and I ad-libbed more than I usually do, which was fun - Barry Pearl was there, too.

Finished the wonderful holiday film HEAVENLY CREATURES and am now moving on to the equally celebratory DRAGON TATTOO TRILOGY EXTENDED VERSIONS.  ;)

I just added this yesterday to our library's on-line catalog.  I still need to actually place the order, but people can place holds for this. :)
