TOD:
I don’t know where to start. The internet has changed things so much but it’s difficult to place one thing over everything else. I think one of the main advantages is that it has saved time. Pre-internet days it was difficult to research things or obtain information about so many things without having to write letters or make lengthy long-distance telephone calls or make personal visits to places. So much is now available at the touch of a keyboard. The computer itself has made it so much easier to type and print copies of documents (anyone remember the days of producing copies of documents by having to use inky stencils?)

Remember mimeograph machines?  I used to actually *ask* my teachers if I could make the mimeograph copies down in the school office just so I could smell the ink.  Yes, it does explain quite a lot.

The smell made me sick.

It's 50o here and when the first half of the Cincinnati/Connecticut game is over I'm going outside to put the lighted evergreens & bows on the front porch railing.

And now I need to get ready to head to LACC for today's final performance of Lost and Unsung. To quote Richard Maltby: "What a journey, what a ride!"

*And my brother, Jay, currently en route from San Diego with his wife. They'll be at today's matinee. :)

The great movie main title (remember them?) and poster designer

The front porch is now garlanded, UC holds a share of the Big East title, and my MomCave is decidedly warmer now that the storm windows are in  :)

The internet also made my Farmer research more available and I believe turned the tide in reportage about the actress.  Fifteen years ago people pretty much believed the Scientology version of her life, that has made a 180 degree turn now, which I believe I helped to facilitate.

So Jeff, when's your book coming out? :D

Went to the post office.  I'm happy to say that the DVD and CD of Phantom (25th Anniversary) were in one of the packages.   I'm watching the blu-ray right now.  It looks and sounds great!

I heated up a steak pie today but when I came to eat it I found it was a chicken pie! I don't hate chicken pies but I far prefer steak pies and when it says steak pie on the packet, I tend to assume that's what I'm going to get. Still, I've eaten it now so I can't very well go back and complain. I've got a chicken to roast tomorrow as well - so it's turning into an all-chicken weekend.

A delivery company knocked on my door today and asked if I could take in a large parcel for next door because there was no reply. I said I'd take care of the parcel and they said they would leave a card to say I had it. My neighbour moved in recently but I don't see much of him. I think he comes from Eastern Europe but he doesn't seem to speak much English - he sort of grunts when I say hello. He hasn't called on me for the parcel so I went round with it to his front door. I saw a light on in the house but as soon as I knocked on the door the light went out. I knocked again - no response, so I came back home. Very odd. I don't know what I'm going to do if he doesn't come to collect the parcel.

Eastern European neighbor... Unclaimed package.......... Light goes out when you knock on the door.

Sounds like a good start for a Alfred Hitchcock film.
