SHOW FOUR
« on: December 03, 2011, 12:23:35 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of show four, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they missed show four, but are thinking about seeing show five or six - they would've been there opening night if we'd called the evening Unsung MOOsicals.

To answer Dear Read JosSPiano

It is the only the lower part that is affecting me. Chrone's is the entire intestinal tract

And since I am up this early and in much discomfort....

I do not think I will go into work today.

TOD:

Ebay is a great site for finding things - and collecting things.
And it is great to have Amazon so that I can get books and music that might not be available locally....and at good prices.

ALSO of course.....friends like those at HHW.....the internet is wonderful!!!

As a tool, the computer makes writing much easier......and certainly business and board of directors communication is much easier now......no stamps to mail the minutes.

And as a publicity tool for shows and events - it can't be beat.

Good morning, all! I slept well and I do believe in my last dream I was workng on a revue with our very own BK. My only memory of it now is that Greg Jbara and Debbie Gravitte were rehearsing/performing "Man and Wife" and "Guess We Might As Well Stay Married."

So, this morning I've got work on ROBERTA, THE RED MILL, and DEAREST ENEMY. I have a few Act Two scores of RED MILL to mark up for my copyists, but the main task is cleaning up the draft of the vocal score for DEAREST ENEMY. Later in the afternoon I am taking the CDs of EILEEN to Bruce Pomahac's for a listen.

I can add no more to DR JRand61's thoughts on the innernet than "I agree!"

Instant communication!!!

A blessing and a curse.....but mostly a blessing!

I am off to work.  Oh well.

DR ELMORE - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 reveals that you often consider your business relationships in terms of family and marriage, some of them work out, some of them don't - but all of them in the end worth the time and trouble.

Saturday morning greetings!  We are up and ready for the arrival of the window-washing crew that will, well, wash our windows inside and out and replace the screens with storm windows.  Guess that means winter's here...

I forgot to mention I received the 5.1 Mix of LOST HORIZON (Musical Version). It makes all the difference in the world,

So I have a mono copy to give away to the first person who responds to this post

TOD:
I don’t know where to start. The internet has changed things so much but it’s difficult to place one thing over everything else. I think one of the main advantages is that it has saved time. Pre-internet days it was difficult to research things or obtain information about so many things without having to write letters or make lengthy long-distance telephone calls or make personal visits to places. So much is now available at the touch of a keyboard. The computer itself has made it so much easier to type and print copies of documents (anyone remember the days of producing copies of documents by having to use inky stencils?)

Window washer guys are here and our house is all torn up - we had to move as much as we could to give them access.  I've been doing some holiday decorating, but now I'm just trying to stay out of their way.

Remember mimeograph machines?  I used to actually *ask* my teachers if I could make the mimeograph copies down in the school office just so I could smell the ink.  Yes, it does explain quite a lot.

The internet has literally changed my life manifestly for the better.  Having worked for so long in traditional print media, it's an incredible pleasure to be nicely compensated to write for a site where I can pretty much just work from home at my own pace.

The internet also made my Farmer research more available and I believe turned the tide in reportage about the actress.  Fifteen years ago people pretty much believed the Scientology version of her life, that has made a 180 degree turn now, which I believe I helped to facilitate.

On the musical side of things, the internet is a fantastic marketing and networking tool.  I have received so many wonderful emails from "regular" folk and well known artists through the years who have heard some of my material, found me online, and contacted me.  It really makes my day to receive emails like that.

TOD - the Internet revolutionized my profession - remember the card catalog?  On a more personal level, I can remember planning a 3.5-week family driving trip to the west coast in 1996 with paper maps and travel brochures.  By the time I was planning a similar trip east in 1999 we had internet access at home and it was a totally different experience.

And the human connection - our son Rob has gotten to know, via Facebook, my cousin who lives in Japan far better than he would have even with email.  And who could have imagined that I'd be playing Scrabble on my phone with my friend Jane from elementary school?

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And it's currently 43 degrees here in Glendale. It's also 43 degrees in Washington, DC... As well as in New York City. -I truly did a double/triple take when I checked my weather app on my iPhone a few minutes ago.
