This is a good time to come back--Justin Bieber is now singing on Michael's special.

That may be enough to keep me from watching the special.

Don't worry --he only sings one song.

I guess I should start getting ready for bed, but I hate having to shuffle around the house.  It wears me out.

Well, I'm leaving now, too.  At work tomorrow, we're having our annual Holiday Potluck and Gift Exchange...and I still need to get a gift and foodstuffs for the potluck!  Actually, I got some sliced cheese at Costco yesterday but I couldn't find any crackers to go with them, so I'm heading to Fred Meyer.  I also need to get some cat food and treats, but those aren't for the potluck at work. ;)

Until later!

I wish I had watched Michael Buble'. I'm watching an underdramatic opera version of "Little Women." Some nice music, but the libretto isn't as good.

DR Sam sorry about your boss' wife :(  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

DR cillaliz, can you see who is calling by looking at call display? (not sure if all politicians put private number or something like that so people will answer).

No, but they are almost all from the 515 area code and I don't live there.  There are also the unknown calls, most people don't answer those.  Usually pollsters.   Today I got a call from some unknown person saying he really loves Mitt Romney...like I care.  And from the gun lobby of some sort saying Newt voted against gun ownership.  Oh, and a pollster, I hung up on him.

My new game is to see how many days in a row Mitt Romney or one of his peons calls me.   You know, I was a Howard Dean person back when.  We called people constantly....now I know why he lost, lol

Elmore, I like your reasoning on registering Democrat, except for the fact that I've been an independent since I first registered to vote. Plus, I like telling the people from their campaigns what I truly think of the candidates they support. I don't know if ears of the woman from the Cain campaign are still ringing, but I tried my best.

Plus, I get to do that with candidates of both parties.

I believe that if you register as an Independent in Washington State, you can't vote in the primaries.
It's the same here, but you can change your registration at the caucus or at the polls, so people change parties a lot here.  I'm sure there will be many new Republicans caucusing for whoever they thing Obama can beat the easiest.  Just how it goes

Today Ricky....well I'm assuming it was Ricky....managed to spill a glass of water into a powerstrip.   I had the glass covered and just forgot to take it to the kitchen this morning.   Anyway, the power strip did what it should have and shut off. Don't know what happened exactly.  and to make matters worse, the smoke detector battery was going dead so it was beeping. When I got home, I replaced the battery and cleaned up the mess from the water.   I was mad at first, but Rick has wanted to be on my lap all night, so I'm thinking he had a rough day

We had a slightly rough rehearsal but a good one.  And hearing the Promises pit singers tear into Turkey Lurkey after forty years was beyond thrilling - it was a momentous occasion as it will be tomorrow night.

Then I had to watch a motion picture to figure out how the music for our CD works and to give the tracks titles - which I did.  We've got more music than I thought, and while it took some figuring out and rearranging, it's going to be a really fun first half of the album (the second half is a score by the same composer in the same vein).  So, other than some bonus material, this one's just about figured out.  I think fans of the composer and the film will be very happy, even though we really only have half the score.  Luckily, there is a lot of repetition and we have many of the cues and overall it's a good representation.  When another label did something similar with X: The Man With The X Ray Eyes, they only had one tape out of two - but unlike ours, most of their tape was source music and not dramatic score - I think in the end they only had about eight minutes of actual score out of their eighteen minutes.  We've got all dramatic score and without the bonus tracks we've got at least twenty-four minutes - with the bonus, closer to twenty-eight or thirty.

When I saw recent 25th anniversary filming of The Phantom of the Opera and it had technical difficulties throughout the first act, we were given a "rain check pass."  I've decided to use it tomorrow (Wednesday) for a Met Broadcast of Philip Glass' Satyagraha.  I bought the album when I was in college and just loved it.  Granted, I haven't listened to it in quite a few years, but I'm looking forward to actually seeing the whole show. :D

I got "Satyagraha" at the same time as "Einstein at the Beach" and "Akhnaten," so I have all three of Philip Glass' trilogy.
