We delivered food and gifts to the needy family.  Though Gabe wouldn't admit it outright, we think him seeing the near hovel-like living conditions of these people had an impact on his pampered little worldview.  :)

DR Jane, I just dragged myself to the basement for a 30-minute walk.  I've gotten very lazy amidst all the holiday prep and graduation festivities and I have to get back into a daily routine.

Good for you.

Even though I was dragging, still am, I found more energy than I expected & had a good work out.

I've been to a good Chinese lunch on Seventh Avenue and 37th Street, arrrived home, gone out to the market, and returned. There seems to be a convention of immature post collegiate horse's asses hanging out at the liquor store on 79th and Broadway, which made it difficult to browse, think, or be civil. I can only hope they're bridge and tunnel fools and not new neighbors. Walking Broadway was an ordeal: too much crowd and way too many gapers amongst them.

I think I can get a spot of work accomplished on ROBERTA, and then I'll watch TUNA CHRISTMAS. A good laugh is needed for the stupidity of others and myself.

We're meeting friends for dinner in about a half hour.

Tomorrow we are going to see Macy's and Lord and Taylor's windows with them. We are going early to avoid crowds.

Then we will settle in for a day of watching DVDs (and some dinner also).

Craig was headed to the golf range when Keith put him to work catching the branches of the tree Keith is cutting off of the roof.  Sherlock is barking & Yogi is making whimpering noises that sound more like a loud bird. ;D

It always makes me nervous when Keith works on the roof.  I would be doing laundry except I want to be able to hear him until he is safely off of it.

Lunch today was at Gary's....in an old Hardee's franchise building.  We had hamburgers, fries and "fried okra."  The huge surprise was that the fried okra was sensational.  I ate with my mother, my aunt and their friend, Betty (director of the funeral home in town).

Yesterday's lunch was at The Triangle...I had catfish, grits, green beens and Waldorf Salad.  It was very good.

I'm loving the rustic life.

My mom is frying some chops which we'll eat tonight with collards, pinto beans and cornbread.

We have not yet done our annual trek to Spartanburg to place flowers on the graves of my great grandparents and grandparents, nor have we planned our annual trek to Greenville where we shop.

My aunt committed to a graduation (mentioned earlier) so we're looking at next week.

Some Frances fan just emailed me in fact and wants to "gift" me with his collection of stills, posters, etc.

I can take the duplicates.

Herbert Lieder - didn't he play the father on Dennis the Menace on TV?

He has a conductor son, Foleau D. Lieder.

On the Baltimore & Ohio?
