MEdia Check:

DVD:  I've already watched all the must-see seasonal dvds in my collection. Tonight, I might go for the Bell Telephone Hour Old Fashioned Christmas that I couldn't sit though last year (a major serving of Florence Henderson goes a long way...)

CD:  Christmas music (which include a nice gifty from a DR)

The one thing I'll miss about not being in Los Angeles this weekend is not being able to attend BK's "do".

For the first time ever, I received a shipment from Amazon with no packing slip.  And this was a rather large order with a few potential returns.

Grrrrrr...

My 2 year old niece is over. I have to pick up my other niece from school at 1pm. And we are going to bake holiday cookies!

I hope you enjoy it and keep it far from me. It got up to 72 here yesterday. The sun was shining, the grass was green. I saw neither an orange nor a palm tree sway ...

You can always go to your Amazon account and print an invoice.

And I am off to Lincoln Center.

I had that Original Soundtrack LP and my mother forbade me to play it when she was in the house.  :)

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And it really has been nice being able to get eight+ hours of sleep for a couple of nights in a row. The biggest benefactor of all of that proper rest: my lower back. :)

A friend of mine was supposed to call me around 11:00am (EST) to coordinate going Christmas shopping with him, but he never called. And since I was still in bed at that time, well... I'll check in with him in a few. He might have slept in too. Or decided to spare me the Terror of the Malls. ;)

I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday afternoon. At least all the "necessary" stuff - a.k.a. for the nieces and nephews.  I may go ahead and head out later and due my usual wandering of the aisles to see what catches my eye. Or not.

As for the Friday Media Check...

Well...

I haven't even loaded up my Christmas Playlist in iTunes yet this season. However, as of earlier this week, I do have a new disc to add to that collection. :)

DR Dan (the Man) - Have you checked the outside of the box. I know sometimes when I've received a large order, it gets placed in one of those plastic "windows" glued to the carton. -Otherwise, as DR elmore mentioned, you can always access your account on Amazon.com and print out an invoice and any necessary return labels.

Robert Easton has passed away.  You will probably recognize his picture, if not his name.

Oh, I remember his appearances on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". It was wonderful listening to him change accents on a dime.

Question for you Apple/Mac types:  Freddy's (the local Kroger chain) is having an iPad sale, with everything off $50, plus tomorrow they have an additional $30 off.  Should I stimulate the economy?  :)  And if so, what version of the iPad do any/all of you recommend?

There's basically only one version of the iPad out right now: the iPad 2.

However, it's a matter of options:
-Black or White
-WiFi only
-WiFi and 3G -Then you have to decide if you want AT&T or Verizon - At least with the iPad, you can sign up for a month-to-month 3G plan with no yearly obligation.
-Then it's just a matter of how much on-board storage you want: 16GB, 32GB or 64GB - And, yes, the more GBs, the higher the price.

So...

If you want to splurge for a Wifi and 3G enabled one, that may be the way to go. That's what I have. I don't have the 3G enabled, but it's nice to know that it's there should I ever have the real need to activate it. -There are enough WiFi hotspots in NYC and DC and even here in Richmond, that I don't have a need for the 3G. And if I do need a 3G connection, well, then I use my iPhone. ;)

I gave Betsy and the kids the newish BD of GALAXY QUEST for Chanukah.  It's one of Betsy's favorite movies and she's been watching it nonstop now for two days.  I got a big kick out of an interview segment with Alan Rickman on the supplements where he says the allure of the film is, "Well, you know, Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman, together at last!"  :)

Loving Brian Setzer's Christmas album, which I just discovered, with a version of "Angels We Have Heard on High" that is a cross between mariachi band and "Wipe Out."
