I had lunch with my friend Jan. Jan and I grew up together. She was ill with a very painful condition for about six months this year. I'm very glad to see her feeling better and back at work. I told her about the HHW NYE partay, but I doubt that she'll drop by. And, yes, she remembers BK.

Actually the fact that Portland was ever even considered "in" makes me laugh.  Heartily.

DR JMK - From a Foodie/Gourmet/Gourmand/FoodTruck standpoint, it's still "In". Although, I believe that some cities in the Midwest are starting to grab more of that spotlight.

In other news...

I'm hoping that when I get up tomorrow morning, I will finally go through the 10 plastic "shoeboxes" of stuff that have been sitting up on a shelf in my parents' house. They've been there for a number of years already. I should just throw them out, but... Well... I do know that there are a few important receipts in one of them. However, the whole "project" should take less than an hour to complete. Much less than an hour. I hope.

During my Christmas sojourn I came across a biscuit I've not had before; Carr's Cheese Melts. A bit of cheese on these biscuits goes down a treat. The biscuits melt and crumble in the mouth. I believe they are available in the US although I don't know how widely.

End of commercial break.

Ooh! I'll have to give a closer look the next time I pass the Carr's section in the Cookies & Crackers aisle in the supermarket.

I also got the dates for the New York auditions for THE MUSIC MAN at Arena Stage. I'm looking forward to being with a show from the audition process to closing night again.

Listening to early k.d. lang after too much Steve Lawrence and "What Makes Sammy Run." "Angel with a Lariat." I think it's her best album all these years later. What a raucous, wonderful instrument her voice is, and she sings as if there's no limit to what it could do. Like a child before it learns that it can't fly.

I had seen that on IMDb, too, and wondered about it.

I wonder if Steve & Eydie have ever covered Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"?

Back from various and sundried things - had some matzo brei, did a two-mile jog rather than four, picked up some packages and no important envelope, which will hopefully be here tomorrow with some other packages.  So, one of the packages contains a little something for you dear readers - therefore, you'll need to send your addresses to me at kritzerland at gmail dot com - even if you think I have it, send it anyway.

Wrote the fourth episode of season two's Outside The Box in its entirety.  I'm sure I'll futz with it, but that one is complete.

Please, seriously, no more jokes about DataLounge, at least as far as I'm concerned - it's building into a very worrisome situation and I'm now assuming it involves some of the anonymous lurking guests here .

I suppose it's time to head up to Symphony Space for the Gilbert & Sullivan. Please, God, let it be good!

Just got home from War Horse.  Since I seem to be losing my sense of humor I decided a little movie therapy would be a good idea.   I have to say the movie was OK, but the book is much better. It's only 165 pages and narrated by the horse.
