DR JOSE where are you living in NYC nowadays?  I keep forgetting....of course as long as you know the address, things are okay.

I'm currently residing on the Upper East Side. -With a mailing address by Columbus Circle. After looking at my schedule for the next couple of months, it looks like I'll only be in NYC for about six weeks between now and when I start rehearsals for THE MUSIC MAN ("He's a what? He's a what?) back down in DC. Thankfully - and very graciously and generously - my friend is still letting me crash at his place as needed.

And, yes, I know both addresses. I hope.

Good morning, all! My bartender neighbor above me, who's usually out until around 6:30am, got inlast night around 1am and proceeded to be really noisy until after 3:30. Then, around 6:15, he dropped something loud and clattering on the floor. When the alarm went off at 6:30, wishing him dead, I turned it off  and went back to sleep until 8:15. I've sent Joshie an email telling him I may be an hour late to Encores! today.

At this point I have little else to report.

Kudos to BK and company for a good show last night!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes to all for a good Monday! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Monday morning greetings!  Arose to an email that may cause some ruffled feathers in my book group - partially my fault for not attending the last AAUW board meeting, partially K's fault for not attending book group or looking at our website.  Hope L doesn't get too bent out of shape about it...
My broadband connection is back!  I've ordered a new wireless router just in case these problems are anything to do with the fact that my router is over 10 years old - and gets very hot.
So far today it's been beans on toast for breakfast, cappuccino and croissant for mid morning and fish fingers for lunch. Spaghetti Bolognese this evening I think.
Very mild today so I've been out to do some gardening - tidying up, pulling up dead plants etc.
Kritzerland at Sterling's 17 was delightful! Who knew "Casper the Friendly Ghost" could sound so good? My favorite cartoon theme was always "Milton the Monster," but I digress. Anyway, everyone was wonderful, and I look forward to the next show. The hightlight was hearing Bruce sing "When You Wish Upon a Star". As I've said before, I think Bruce, or Guy Haines, or someone like that should sing at every Kritzerland show because it always makes us so happy.
Took the car in this morning for a $45 oil change and filter change. The rest of the work needed will end up costing $450. Ugh.
re: THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO MOVIE
Sorry i missed part of the discussion yesterday.  I get that books are very long. And when making a movie you can't include everything. For example in the book Mikael goes shopping for winter clothes because his clothes aren't warm enough. I believe in the Swedish version he just gets the clothes. That makes no difference to the story.  I don't know about the extended Swedish version (if the relationship between Mikael and Erika was shown). But in the theatrical Swedish version (what i saw) it was not shown at all in the first movie. And to me this makes no sense. What happens between them at the end of the first book plays a major factor in how the second book begins.  It is absolutely vital. And to not show the book ending in the movie ... well it completely changes the motivation for what Lisbeth does at the beginning of the second Swedish movie.  DR Cillaliz said that US version does show the relationship. And i'm guessing it has the same ending as the book?  To me this is a big deal.
Betsy took our older SUV in yesterday and I literally gave her a list of things they'd try to sell her which we didn't need.  :)  She went to Oil Can Henry's this time instead of Jiffy Lube, and said they were SO much better--no hard sell, you get to sit in your car while they do the change (and they bring you reading material).  Plus, they didn't try to sell her anything other than a rear differential clean, which indeed we probably do need (but which she didn't go for).
