did you have an opportuniy to  pick an award winning Church chili recipe for me?
I wish I did. Otherwise, I would win my church's chili cookoff.

you have one at your church as well?
Every Sunday before Valentine's Day.

I should be out of the hospital in time for this year's, but I don't know if I'll be up for chili or what I'll be eating then. Or even if my appetite is affected.

And now for something completely different:

Hail 2012!

I think this should be Michigan's commercial for the 2012 broadcast sports season - very classy!

We went to the library and took out the Complete Series for To The Manor Born starring Penelope Keith. We began to watch it last night after dinner. We also have Mrs. Santa Claus with dear Angela. I guess they forgot to put that one away in the Holiday vault. I've never seen it so we will watch that as well, along with Strawberry Blonde with James Cagney and Olivia de Haviland, a PBS version of Room With a View and the Olivier and Greer Garson version of Pride and Prejudice. Lots to watch this holiday weekend!

I love MRS. SANTA CLAUS; and since it is Jerry Herman you can have fun figuring out which song is in the place of BEFORE THE PARADE PASSSES BY, and which song is the elevon o'clock number.  Angela is terrific, Michael Jeter is sweet, David Norona is a cutie, and Terrence Mann is way over the top as the villain.  Sweet show, nice music.

Good morning, all! I slept very poorly last night and I don't think I actually fell asleep before 3am. I am moving very slowly and I am very, very, very tired. At least I know I'll be going to bed early tonight, perhaps directly after lunch.

The cause of my anxiety? The state of the DEAREST ENEMY scores and my fears that a good friend who's very talented, isn't up to the task. I have to read him the riot act today and throw a fit, two things I am quite capable of doing at any time and place but which I'd rather not. So, this will be an interesting day. It isn't one I look forward to, however.

Just pretend you are talking to MBarnum, and it should be a snap!

I had some strange idea that in a bout 5-10 years I may want to get a camper and travel around.  So I went to a RV show today.  OMG they are very very expensive, plus the cost of a vehicle to pull it.  I could fly and stay in nice hotels many times before equaling the cost.  At least I can free the brain space I was using with that thought

My sister and brother-in-law have had several RVs.  I think there current model is a 32 foot motor home.  My sister says that the RV is not a vacation home for her.  She still has to cook the meals, she still has to do the dishes, she still has to make the beds, and she still has to do the laundry.  In addition, the beast only gets around 8 mpg, so it is not cheap unless you want to just park it in the driveway.

Why not wait until December?

This afternoon, my friend, Betzy, and I were talking about the Costa cruise ship and how people were comparing it (wrongly) to the Titanic, when it actually more closely resembles the Andrea Doria.  Just then my postal carrier delivered my copy of SAVED: The Story of the Andrea Doria, which I bought on ebay last week,

We will be watching the 1979 Christmas special from To the Manor Born as soon as Anthony finishes washing the dinner dishes.

We are enjoying it a great deal (said in a posh English accent).

TCB, we loved the bit when they went back to Santa's workshop and Jeter and the two elves brought in the present for Santa and the underscore music was We Need a Little Christmas.

We also caught sight of Mr. Herman himself playing piano in a saloon soon after Mrs. Claus' arrival in New York.

Lots of fun.

Betsy also uses a netipot (or however it's spelled) and loves it.  I find it disturbing at the very least.  :)

Has she ever tried the squeeze bottle one? It is the same idea but much easier. You don't have to tilt your head. But you get the same result. My sister has used both and she much prefers the squeeze bottle.

Betsy has just shared that all of you netipot explorers should use non-Iodized salt in your device.

Don't you just use the packets provided by Neilmed?
