I've only seen one of the movies, HUGO, which have any nominations.

I'm rooting for Johnny Galecki to win best actor for a comedy.

I don't think I've seen any movies that were nominated, except Bridesmaids.

I forgot we did see Bridesmaids.  I can't figure out why it was nominated for anything.

Finally caught up with all the BK notes I've missed these past few weeks!

A lot of exciting stuff!!

And now all the Haines postings from that time. That will take a few days I'm sure.

Welcome back, Michael S.

Thank you

DR Michael S I missed where you were.  I admire that you read all the past postings.  That is too much for me.

Since I have my free pass, I've seen a lot of these.  I doubt I can win the contest two years in a row, but I'm certainly going to try....so I'm watching everything possible to help me decide

That chili recipe looks good, but I would cut the cumin in half. You need some, but not enough to taste it by itself. And I might toast the cumin slightly before using.

Thank John,
How would I toast the cumin?  Just put it in a fry pan or should I put it under the broiler?
In a frying pan on the stove only for about a minute or two. When it begins to get fragrant, it's ready.

thank you -  as you can tell I am not a very experienced cook

I haven't seen more than one or two of the movies nominated.

I watch a lot of tv, but don't get HBO or Showtime. So I dislike that most of the shows and people nominated are not from anything I watch. :(

I dislike that they let boring people go on and on during their speeches. But cut interesting people off.

Need to get back to the show but am falling asleep.

I'm watching with a blanket since it is still so cold. I hate this temp. Although i hate lots of snow more. Right now there is another storm coming on tuesday night. And maybe thurs and friday. :(
