DR TCB, how are you feeling today?

I've been to store and returned with vodka. I got about halfway through the Disc 3 songs in seven hours and figured, the hell with it. I'm tired.

I thought you were going to say I got about halfway through the bottle. Drinking alone is the first sign ;)

I hate to disappint my critics but i'm no drunk. Yet.

I don't like drinking alone, but a glass of vodka and tonic iisn't bad for sleeping before turning out the lights.

Does anyone know why on two of the better (best) songs from Sunset Blvd "With One Look" and "As If We Never Said Goodbye"

There is a credit that says; "Contributions by Amy Powers"?

I know she is is a lyricist. I was wonder why she wasn't credit it as such. I looked at her website

Did you Google her name?

Bruce,

How accurate is this information for the Petula Clark Album Here For You?

Release Date: 10/20/1998
Recording Date: 10/1998

Well, obviously not accurate at all.  We were fast, but not that fast.  I believe we recorded both her and Miss Reddy in the summer.

This work is going too slowly. I'll work a bit longer and head out for a bottle of vodka.

Just finished watching HUGO in 2D. I liked it. It wasn't at all what I expected. I wouldn't pick it as my favorite. I'm sure the 3D is fun. But i hate the glasses so 2D was fine with me

I would like to see it again in 3D.

I hope that when TCB receives his long-awaited Important Check he treats himself a bit. He can pat himself on the back for being tenacious, for hanging in there, and getting it on time after all.

DR Michael S - As others have pointed out already, Amy Powers is considered a co-writer of "Sunset Blvd." In fact, IIRC, her credit is a result of a lawsuit. You can Google the specifics.

I don't think that having a drink to help you sleep is the same as "drinking alone."

She only worked on those two songs, so they couldn't just list her a lyricist for the entire show.

All sorts of food wake me up if I eat them at night.  Pop corn, chocolate, spirits & sugar to top the list.

Chocolate has a great deal of caffeine in it.

Alcohol can help one get to sleep, however, it is often the cause of waking up during the night.

I still remember the whole "Is alcohol a stimulant or depressant?" discussion from my high school's driver's ed/alcohol awareness class. It is a technically a depressant, but the initial "reaction" can be sort of like a stimulant. And, as DR Jane, mentioned, it can cause you to wake up during the night which is caused once the alcohol has metabolized in your body.

I'm also one of those people who can get quite drowsy when I drink alcohol - especially wine. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does...

I still remember one time at Becco when I happened to catch the eye of my waiter at Becco just as I was nodding off at the table - or rather his eye caught mine as my head nodded down. A few seconds later he appeared with a freshly-brewed cup of coffee.* -That was after a negroni and a couple of glasses with wine. Needless to say, we skipped the post-dessert grappa that night. Or did I nod off during the grappa? In any case... ::)

*Tim, our waiter, got a very good tip that night.
