I'm listening to the fantastic new boxed set of Marcos Valle albums. Marcos and his brother Paul Sergio are sometimes called the Gershwins of Bossa Nova (by me, if by no one else

), and this new set is a compendium of all of Marcos' albums from 1963 to 1974. His name may not be familiar to some of you, but you've heard his music--he wrote Summer Samba (a huge hit for Walter Wanderley and a chart hit for several Americans with a lyric as So Nice), The Face I Love (a big hit for Andy Williams), and Crickets Sing for Anamaria, among many, many others. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.
