Just watched the first disc of "Hot in Cleveland" season two, which wouldn't play on the DVD player, so I had to use my laptop. That's what you get with library discs some time.

Typically glitches like that are something minor like fingerprints.  DVDs can be washed with liquid soap.  Just dry them by rubbing from the center out (not around in a circle).
I'll remember that if I have a problem with the second or third discs.

The Vixter and I went to see POTO in Albert Hall  in the movie theatre when it was being broadcast  live from London

We watched the 1st 1/2 of the DVD yesterday and she says that she thinks that some of the camera angles are different in the video than those we saw during the original broadcast

She also believes they may have enhanced some of the sound effects

I've been going and doing.  I picked up two packages, both of which contained a CD with the same music - a soundtrack we're issuing.  These two issues seem very bogus to me - and there's a third that was released here in the States - I don't know from whom these were licensed but NONE of them are from the original album masters - they're all from either LP or a mono third or fourth generation tape and sound like crap.  So, something I could have licensed years ago but didn't because of all these specious releases will, in fact, be getting the Kritzerland treatment - stereo for the first time on CD, from the original album masters - and with a bonus, too.  I can't say what that is without giving away the title, but I can say the film from whence this score comes is one of the most beloved 60s films ever, and this CD will sell out instantly.

Just passingly curious:  how in the hell did Belinda Carlisle ever become a "star"?  Watching the Whitney Houston recap today reminded me of the Seattle songwriting team who wrote some of her hits and later had that great tune "Waiting for a Star to Fall" under their own band name (Boy Meets Girl), which Carlisle also evidently recorded.  Just listened to a demo on YouTube and she is so flat I can't believe it.

I suggest starting with Row, Row, Row Your Boat and moving up the complexity ladder from there.

I saw a Vera Bradley store at the Prudential Center mall.  And then I saw Vera Bradley merchandise at Barnes and Noble.  Of course I thought of DR Ginny.  I have to say I don't ever remember hearing the name before I read DR Ginny's posts.  Now I seem to see it everywhere!

I don't know whether to be flattered or embarrassed, but thanks for thinking of me, DR KevinH!

For our pizza night movie, I gave Richard 3 choices - Midnight in Paris, Julie & Julia, or Enchanted - and he chose Enchanted.  Amy Adams is so perfect!

And I'm off to bed because I have a 5:30 wake-up in the morning - 'night!

I ended up going out for a late supper.  I wasn't really intending to eat again, but hunger got the better of me - so a friend and I went to the Eclectic Cafe and I had cajun chicken angel hair pasta - very light, actually.
