Well, you've read the notes, the notes tripped the light fantastic, the light fantastic was good natured about it, and now it is time for you to post until the light fantastic cows come home.

Good mrning, all! I slept quite a long time, with one long torturous "New York Is Destroyed So Evacuate Now" dream involving a hotel, subway, automobiles, elevators and God alone knows what else.

It's a long weekend because of Presdent's Day. I hope my invoice check arrives today, otherwise it will be a long poor weekend. I have a cuple of errands to run this morning, and then I will spend the remainder of the weekend working on taxes and proofreading.

Did Andrew Lloyd Webber write a song about it?

Saturday morning greetings!  I had a very nice day yesterday, first running errands by myself, then more errands and a Red Lobster dinner with Richard.  My first stop was the Middfest International office to buy tickets for their March 3 "French Affair," a fundraiser and preview of this year's featured country, France.  Then on to Lambikin's Hideaway, the knitting store, for some coaching on my 2 projects.  Richard and I went to a branch of my former library employer before our dinner and to the grocery store after.

Today I'm home baking coffee cakes for the fellowship time after tomorrow's church service.

This month seems to be going along at a snail's pace - probably because I go into a state of semi-hibernation at this time of year.

BK - glad you liked the Phantom Blu and Ray.  I thought it was amazing how they staged it with the projections and all.

TOD:  You know I strive to keep the ALW flame alive here at HHW, so I should probably list the songs that are NOT my favorite because the list would be much shorter.  I'll have to get back to you on that.

How appropriate for Andrew Lloyd Webber Day.

I reviewed The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall and didn't despise it, which, coming from me, is high praise indeed.  :)  There's been some brouhaha about a missing center channel on the 5.1 mix, but it is there after the Prologue, but it's really strangely mixed, over-reverbed and muddy sounding.  Phantom fans should also be aware that one of the big set pieces of the show (in fact, the set piece) doesn't occur in this production.

As I joked in my review, and some other ALW reviews through the years, I feel Sir Andrew suffered from some inexplicable series of strokes after Jesus Christ Superstar.  JCS was a work of genius in my estimation, but after that, meh, with some slight exceptions.

Best Punchline o' the Night Department:  Betsy's parents are in town from Wisconsin and we went out to dinner last night and got talking about the Scott Walker recall.  They said they had signed the petition (of course LOL) and I asked if a petitioner had come to their little lakeside cabin, and they said no, they had gone to an official "signing" event at the local (tiny northern Wisconsin village) Unitarian Church.  Betsy's mom, in extolling the virtues of how easy it was to sign the petition, offered this assessment:  "Those Unitarians. . .they're so advanced."  ;)

With all the rainstorms and all that is conspiring to keep me inside today, I decided to watch "Lawrence of Arabia." I'm almost through with the first half. Interesting to watch in light of what is happening in the Middle East today.
