It's not the end of the world (or the DVD ) if you dry in a circle, as long as you're careful. DVD's tend to handle scratches better if they're at a 90 degree angle from the "circle," if that makes sense.

Are you saying drying it the wrong way scratches it? I use a soft mircrofiber cloth to dry them with.

Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from Lima, where my coffee cake was a big hit. We have lots left over, because there were only 10 people there today, one of whom didn't stay for refreshments and another who's on a strict diet. I froze a couple of batches and left out only a few pieces for Richard and me to eat in the next couple of days.

Jane, no, you will most likely NOT scratch your DVDs with a soft microfiber cloth, but the reason you should wipe from the inside out in a straight line is in case you DO scratch it (inadvertently).

I have literally scrubbed DVDs and BDs and CDs quite briskly and have never encountered a problem. I also wash LPs with great regularity.
