Saturday morning greetings!  We are taking my Mom to Dayton's Victoria Theatre today to see Human Race's world premiere of TENDERLY: The Rosemary Clooney Musical.  There is a lot of local interest in this piece and Rosemary's brother, Nick, has been in Dayton quite a bit.  Haven't heard of any George (her nephew) sightings, alas.

Thanks for the comment about my scarf, DR JRand.  I'll be wearing it today.  Hope you feel better soon!

Anthony recently transferred an old cassette tape of Carol Channing (BK's favorite ;)) reading passages from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. It prompted us to get the original book from the Library. I just picked it up. I also reserved the sequel, "But, Gentlemen Marry Brunettes". It's "in transit" and should be at the library for pick up in a couple of days.

We also reserved a Beverley Sills CD from 1975

Beverly Sills and Andre Kostelanetz, The Music of Victor Herbert

This was also because of Dear Larry. He posted his artwork for the upcoming CD and we heard about the BS CD and lo, and behold, it's in the library. We should have it soon.

I'm up and awaiting the arrival of she of the Evil Eye, after which I'll do some sort of jog for the first time in two weeks.

Beverly Sills' Herbert recording has turned the virtually unknown "Art Is Calling For Me" from The Enchantress into one of the most popular audiiotn pices for sopranos since "Glitter and Be Gay."

I find the idea of a BS CD most unseemly.  ;)

I love the cover too!

Sorry to hear that you are coming down with something, DR Doug R.  The oaks are blooming around here and its keeping my nose stuffy.  I sound like I have a cold but I don't.  I hope that clears up when I go north.

Going back--to answer your question DR Jane.  I think they will feed me.  I sort of got a kick out of what the lady who called said about the trip.  I asked if they would pick me up to take me the airport (no, I have to make my own arrangements) but once I'm in NY I'm under  "their"  care and I will be escorted everywhere.

Don't they know I already carry the most deadly weapon known to man?  If I hit someone side the head with my purse I could kill them!  :)

I also thought it somewhat funny since I've already been to NY 3 times on my own.  I remember I even impressed DR Elmore by doing that.

I'm glad our oak trees haven't started blooming again.

LOL DR Danise.  I've been wearing my purse around my waist because it is easier on my shoulders.  No swinging purses for me anymore.

I hope they will give you a little free time to see some of our New York DR's.  Most of all have a grand time.

Here is another short piece about HK. I'm surprised there is not more about it, even on Playbill.com.

The personal note on this one was nice.

Ditto. I had that feeling.

A strep virus is going around the office. Thankfully I haven't caught it. It would be my luck after only a few days back.

Love the new book cover. The colors are the same as the First Nudie Musical Blu-Ray, so it seems fitting.

I would love to see this. She was one of a kind. Hope the person playing her is an iota near as good.

Off to lunch. It's a place called Williams Confectionery Crafts and I want to order everything in the place when I go. Old-fashioned favorites, like hummingbird cake, 7-Up cake, pink cake, pies (sweet potato, coconut chess, lemon meringue), strudel (cherry, apple), cupcakes, cookies and more. I keep reminding myself I only get one that I can share, not five.
