The guys have been out shoveling snow so Craig can get to work.  He is lucky he didn't have to be in early today.

That's a little shocking about Davy.  I'll let Barry Pearl know - they worked together in Oliver.

It is sad news.  I told Craig as he was leaving.  When we lived in Michigan he went to see The Monkees perform.  Davy was his favorite as well as mine.

Today's writing assignment:  THE DEER HUNTER.  What a cheery movie!!

Well, it does end with everybody singing.

Even Chris Walken?

He does a few steps from "West Side Story." No, wait, that was Walken in "Romance & Cigarettes."

Question: Is "Peter and the Starcatcher" considered a musical or a straight play?

It's got music (by Wayne Barker) but it's a play.

But it can be eligable for a Tony nomination for Best Original Score

The concerts presented this year with LuPone & Patinkin and Hugh Jackman were deemed inelligble for Best Musical and not because they were being submitted that way. I think it was dumb that the Tony Award dropped the category (Special Theatrical event ??) were these categories would go.

ASK BK

Were you surprised by any of the soundtrack titles that Kritzerland re-releaseed that did not sell out?

Yes, the Counterfeit Traitor surprised me, as did Summer and Smoke and Fear Strikes Out/The Tin Star - those were all 1500, but all world premiere releases and a year ago all of them would have sold out, but thanks to the never-ending gluttony of certain labels, the marketplace is now so glutted with titles and the other problem is that the current collectors only seem interested in 80s and 90s titles.

I really want to know how we got locked.  If I'd made a slip of the fingers it would have happened after my last post before the lock, but there were several posts after that.  It's weird.  Maybe I'll change the password, just in case.

Does anybody on this board know an actor who might be good as or might like to do my one-person play on Maurice Chevalier?

Finally, after years of trying, I think I've "cleared" the song rights for this show.  At least, the copyright holders are willing to work with a production, and I feel comfortable enough with the arrangement to proceed.

I'll probably make the book portion available via Amazon within the next 2-3 weeks, so please keep your eyes open for that Frenchman in the straw hat.

Thanks.

 :)

Are you looking for a younger or older Maurice?
