Oy and vey.  When I walked by the heat register this morning it felt like cold air, which I found odd.  Sometime later I walked by again and it was definitely cold air, so I called the furnace company (we're about 1 week past the warranty of course).  The guy was very friendly, told me to reset the breaker and to check the filters.  I noticed the high tech thermostat was flashing and it was saying "change filter" so I went and vacuumed all of the electrostatic filters (the only kind we have), and that seemed to have done the trick.  But we had the condensate pump fail a couple of months ago and now this, so I am not especially thrilled with this furnace, which was VERY expensive.

In talking further to Zach last night, I overestimated his HUNGER GAMES score.  He really did not like it, and evidently none of his classmates did, either.  That said, I think they were all expecting that every little jot and tittle of the book would be in the film, which is never the case.

I know he is young. How old is he exactly? Maybe they were too young for the movie. Were they mostly boys?  I heard that the movie does follow the book fairly closely. But of course leaves out a few things.

That is too bad that they all went to the midnight showing and then ended up not liking it. I heard the midnight showing got $19 million people. That is crazy!

Zach is 13.  I didn't go to the midnight showing (Betsy did), but her take was there were actually more girls than boys there.

I've finished proofing the Finale (two numbers to go!) and I am ready for a nap.

I'm ready for a nap, too. It was a long morning at the race, followed by a trip to a new food truck park. I stopped by the grocery to get some bananas for the bird and found plants for sale, so I am now trying to grow cucumbers, tomatillos, and two types of peppers.

Bruce will be happy to know that I just purchased the book and I got it for $3.79 at the Sony E- Bookstore. I have a Sony Reader, not a Kindle so I was hoping it would be available there as well.

Glad it's finally showing up everywhere.

Back from various and sundried.  Had the motor car washed, did my banking, put gas in the motor car, and picked up one package.

I've typed up my notes of the Finale, and watched a PBS drive special on a Jersey Boys spin-off group, "Under the Streetlamp," which features Shonn Wiley, who was so wonderful in the Encores! production of FACE THE MUSIIC.

Just got back from some errands in the Dayton Mall area.  It's a bit cooler today and the flowering trees are still in bloom.  The redbud is especially pretty.

Instead of checking the movie "Miss Pettrigrew" out of the library, I checked out the book on CD.

And that's not even one of the better fields I've seen. It's just the one I was able to stop to get photos of. This is a spectacular year for them. And it does make crawling home in rush hour traffic more bearable.

It is SUCH a glorious afternoon here I fear no one will want to come inside for the Pops concert.  We shall see in about 20 minutes.

Watching act II of "Into the Woods." That Sondheim guy's pretty good.

It was, considering all the elements were left over from Thursday's dinner!

From Sondheim to "Prizzi's Honor." Always was a Kathleen Turner fan.
