I sure hope that DR TCB is doing okay and that this surgery really helps him.

More interesting Annie facts: in 1995, I met my first ever bf on AOL.  It was a great match.  His name was John and we had a love for theatre and music.  Well, the "firsts" are always difficult, and at the time I wasn't sure where I was with that part of my life, and I freaked out, and we broke up.  We sorta stayed in touch, some words were exchanged (not good ones), and we lost touch for many years.  I tried to get in touch with him, but I had never heard back.  In 2011, I bit the bullet again and contacted him about my production of Sunset Blvd as that was a mutual obsession between the two of us, and he happened to be in town and came to the show.  He had nice things to say and we scheduled a time to meet and chat.

Anyway, he's back in my life as a great friend.  We are both thankful we re-connected.... and he's playing Drake in my production of Annie.   It's kinda surreal having him in the show, but it goes to show that sometimes time does heal everything.

This is a very nice story.  I'm glad it has a happy ending.
I thought so, too.

From DR Jennifer:

I asked her if she told her teacher. She said no they were not allowed to talk during homework.

Anyhow she went to school today. Her sister stayed home.

I expected this.  How long can they keep her at home?

Amy Adams as the Baker's Wife in "Into the Woods." That could be fun.

Oh, I SO need to see that.  If only I could get to NYC this summer.  Maybe on our way through to Germany...

Yes, I'm still alive. Long story short, I had a relapse of my bug and was laid up for another week.  Then they released my mom from the hospital to the rehab center.  The next day the rehab doctor called me to tell me he was worried about Mom's oxygen intake level and that he wanted to send her to another hospital instead of the one that released her (probably too early!). So Mom has been now dealing with higher co2 levels along with fluid in her lungs.

I can't say enough good things about this new hospital.  Everyone--doctors included--are incredibly helpful and attentive. They are very aggressive in treating their patients where at the other hospital I sometimes felt they were writing Mom off.  So glad that the rehab doctor suggested we switch and have another set of eyes look at her.

TOD

Probably something from EBAY like a cd.

I know what my very first eBay purchase was but it wasn't a CD...and I don't even smoke! ::)

;)

I don't remember what my very first Internet (in general) purchase was.  If it was something from Amazon, my order history goes all the way back to 1998, so that could be it.  The earliest order on Amazon that they show is from Tuesday, February 10, 1998.  I bought the hardback edition of Stephen Sondheim: A Casebook for $47 new...it's now available USED for as little as $85!  (The paperback edition is available for less.)  I also got Earth 2: A Novel and Puzzle (Earth 2, Book 2), which were for my sister.

I guess she could stay home all week, since there is no school/daycare on friday.

I like this.  I've been looking for a good salt shaker.  Every time I see one I like the holes are too big.

Don't do there!  Get a nice salt cellar like this one:

and fill with Kocher salt - you will use less salt this way.

der Brucer

PS - Don't use the spoon - just take a pich with your fingers.

DR Der Brucer, that salt cellar is very pretty....but not nearly as cute as King Kong and the Empire State Building.

True, but salt dispensing from the Empire State Building could be hazardous to your health - look what associating with that building did to poor Kong!

I joined the Internet (AOL) on Aug 1, 1997 and started buying Baby stuff for my young  grandson shortly thereafter.

The news of the tornadoes in Dallas has me a bit shaken. Those storms had been meant for San Antonio, according to earlier reports and they whipped their way north.

This is nice looking, however it works as well as pouring a bit of salt into my hand.  I don't use much salt to begin with & would use even less with a fine shaker.

Jane,

I am on the lookout for a quilt-line trash can that you might find handy - just in case.
