Glad to hear Sherlock is feeling better.   Jane did you see the photo I posted on your FB wall?

I did thank you & hadn't responded yet.  Is that your vet's fb page?  Did you see the beautiful Great Dane?

Yes, that's my vet.   They started doing photos a while back of their patients.  Mostly dogs, but a few cats.

Congrats on the DVDs, George. I wouldn't mind having a couple of those myself. Well, the ones I don't already have.

Watched another Wallander movie - just great.  Then I checked out some of the new Twilight Time transfers, about which more later in the notes.  Now I'm listening to CD 1 of the ALW album.  He's hoping to finish disc two tonight and I should be able to hear that by morning and then approve and get the three masters overnighted to the pressing plant.  If all goes well, and they're putting a rush on the stampers, we should have discs three days before the concert.

the music in "Boardwalk Empire" is just wonderful, as is much of the cast. Tom Aldredge in probably in his last performance, for example. Am already on episode 8.

All I wanted to do this evening was relax and watch movies.  Instead I'm listening to ALW, which will be followed by more listening to other upcoming Kritzerland projects.  And I won't be able to relax and watch movies tomorrow night (seeing a show), Friday night (rehearsing), Saturday night (rehearsing and seeing a show) - maybe Sunday night.

I'm glad I came home early.  Not sick, just been really worn out physically and emotionally.  My family really wears me out.  I didn't go to band rehearsal tonight either.  I'm feeling better.  I think I just needed some down time.   Better get to sleep.  I need to be out of the house a little after 8:00 to be sure I get to the bus on time.   I'm going to take my camera.   I'll take photos of the food and perhaps our Titanic experts can comment on how authentic our meal is :)

Bruce, I watched all the Kenneth Branagh Wallander episodes a few years ago. I enjoyed them and found them well done, but they just weren't one of my favorites. Personal taste? It was the writing, I think. It just didn't resonate for me.

I'd assume the Swedish version is truer to Mankell's writing.

I was just about to have a little mini-meltdown because I really wanted a few hours of ME time - but, now I'm listening to an upcoming soundtrack release and it's just so wonderful that it's put me in a better mood - music, of course, can do that to a soul.

Act two has just uploaded so I guess I'll stay up late and listen and hopefully approve - then it can all go to the pressing plant tomorrow.

Notes will be late - just want to finish proofing the ALW second disc so I can approve.  There are times deep in the second half, when the MD simply stops any pretense of actually trying to conduct - while the musicians literally give up and have no idea what bar they're in.  Thankfully, it doesn't happen much in the first half and everyone knows it's a live recording.

Well, I am off.  I'm going to get a little something to eat before I attend (as a patron...NOT usher!) the "National Broadway Tour of In the Heights"!  I can't wait!  Last year at the WCPA volunteer appreciation dinner, I won two tickets to any WCPA sponsored event and I chose this!

According to the production website, Natalie Toro is in the cast (hers is the only name that I recognize).  I don't know if she'll be in tonight's performance, but she sang a duet with our very own Guy Haines on his CD, "Haines His Way." :) I actually have that CD with me here at work, so I'll bring it with me to the theater and see if I can send it backstage to get her autograph.  Wouldn't that be cool?

Be back later!

I'm back from seeing In the Heights!  And I must say that it was fantastic!  We were in the fourth row, maybe three seats from the center and we could see everything!  The sound was pretty good...except when everyone was singing at the same time and was all jumbled, but otherwise it wasn't too loud.  There were almost 700 pre-sold tickets (the theater holds 988) and it was pretty darned full.  A very deserved standing ovation was given.

However, it turns out that the link to the production website was incorrect on the WCPA's website.  They had the link to the first national tour, which this wasn't, so Natalie Toro wasn't there.  THIS is the actual tour website.  Anyway, highly recommended. ;D
