It was early, I was half-awake, and I ordered all three new releases, one at a time.

Sigh.

File a dispute with PayPal.

It wasn't anyone's fault but mine.

And your point is. . .?   ;D

I thought I'd get some fish and chips at a nearby takeaway - it's months since I bought any. It should only have been about a 5 minute drive and 5 minutes back. I set off and stopped to let a van driver get out of a side road into the main traffic. He immediately broke down in front of me. After getting past him I drove onto the main road which was practically at a standstill with traffic and a neon sign ahead said Long Delays Due to Accident. So my short 10 minute there and back trip ended up taking around an hour or so but at least the fish and chips were good when I eventually got back home.

A friend of mine, Peggy, is in need of some vibes. She had been diagnosed earlier this year with cancer, which turned out to be non Hogdkins lymphoma and is fairly treatable. Unfortunately, her liver is starting to fail because of the stress of the treatments and things don't look too good. She and her husband both worked at the newspaper when I was there, and she got laid off the same day I did.

I had a waffle and matzo brei for the meal o' the day - it was pouring down rain really hard and whilst I was eating brei the power at Jerry's Deli went out - only for about two minutes, but it was quite weird.  Thankfully when I got home the power hadn't gone out here and I hope it stays that way.

I picked up no packages and, irritatingly, no important envelope, which had best be here tomorrow.

Last night, after a couple of hours of tsuris things have calmed down for a moment. Hopefully, the moment of panic I found myself in is now put to rest. Most of the day was pleasant: I had a great time at City Center with Joshie and his intern Elise, who was taping the orchestra parts for Tuesday's orchestra reading of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES. Rob Berman stopped by, so it was nice to see him, and we finished the DEAREST ENEMY vocal score, which is something to see. I fortunately had my cell phone turned off, because i am simply inept with the thing and forgot to turn it on after charging it, so I missed the myriad calls yesterday. If I'd taken the calls, we'd still be finishing the vocal score.

I can't go into details, so you'll have to wait for my memoirs. I can ask, though, that you keep those vibes coming my way. My life until September1 is going to be a roller coaster, and you've been warned.

Turning right to go back home the street was literally like a river, up almost above the wheels of the motor car - this from four hours of mostly LIGHT rain.

This seems like an unhealthy combo for the meal of the day.  I don't even know how you can eat the two together. :o

We had a rather heatening (and LONG) meeting with our stockbroker today that seems to suggest we will in fact be able to retire.  Someday.

Nice to hear about your dinner on the Titanic DR CILLA LIZ!!!

It was great fun. They got a few facts wrong and Margret Brown didn't remember the story about the money in the stover.  But all in all it was really good.  The captain would come in and say.. the time and what was going on.  It was a really good way to bring us back to the real events

Miss Mary Natalie Wick I'm glad you survived the sinking of the Titanic.

Why thank you.  Mother and I and Miss Bonnell were in lifeboat number 8.   Here's more about me

Last night there were no cats on my bed when I went to sleep.  When I woke up in the middle of a thunderstorm, Boo was curled up by my left side and Ricky was curled up on my right with his head on my shoulder
