Miss Mary Natalie Wick I'm glad you survived the sinking of the Titanic.

Why thank you.  Mother and I and Miss Bonnell were in lifeboat number 8.   Here's more about me

That was interesting & sad.

It's an interesting site..encyclopedia titanica

Hi, Cilla. Interesting Titanic adventure. I'd like to see more "real" history adventures--you know, like the PBS "1900 House."

I watched THE IRON LADY the other night. After a rather strange beginning, I grew to really like it. Not at all what I expected. I think I'll watch it again before I return it.

Is anyone familiar with the book" Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan"?  Is was written in 1898 & is about a large passenger ship that hits an iceberg.  It too did not have enough lifeboats for all of the passengers.

My nearby Whole Foods Market now serves CHICKEN & WAFFLES before 11 am. Is this becoming a new fad?

DR Jennifer do you use a defogger for your swim goggles?  I need to try something to reduce the fogging and am concerned I might have an allergic reaction to the stuff.

I've heard about that book, DR Jane, but haven't read it

The author, Morgan Robertsonm had been a sailor & knew about ships & the dangers of modern technology.

"A 1914 edition of Wreck of the Titan included another Robertson story, "Beyond the Spectrum." This story centered on a war between the US and Japan (as were other speculative war stories), in which the Japanese were armed with a special ultraviolet searchlight, which had effects similar to those from atomic weapons."

I have no idea when this is being broadcast this weekend, and the IMDB tells me nothing. It will be available as a set from Amazon on April 24, so I just ordered it,

That's very interesting...I've never heard of it.  I just did a search in our library's catalog and we actually have this title:  "The Wreck of the Titan, or, Futility ; &, Morgan Robertson, the Man."  It's a reprint of two books in one from 1995 and we still have live copies.

And "The Wreck of the Titan, or, Futility" available as a free Kindle download.  There are also other editions that cost.

I believe the original title was FUTILITY & it was reprinted with the new title to include the name of the ship.

Last night we watched THE DESCENDANTS & felt it was by far George Clooney's best performance.
I got this movie and Footloose today from the library.

This is LA: Hard rain, followed by immediate sunshine, followed by gray skies, more hard rain, then immediate sunshine.  This city never ceases to baffle.  Right now it's drizzling AND sunny.  I'm sure the sun will be gone shortly.  If it's gonna be gray and rainy then stay that way and stop with the LA schizo weather crap.  Kiss my ASS, LA schizo weather crap.

And y'all have done it again. I just received this email:

Peggy's not in liver failure although she has dead tissue in the liver. But the liver does regenerate, she just needs the time for it to do so and doctors are hoping to get her that time. the situation is not as dire as it sounded this morning.

I think you just have to make sure that they are really stuck to your eyes. If you have a decent pair (which i'm sure you do) then you just have to make sure that water doesn't keep getting in them.  I once had a very cheap pair and they fogged up a lot. But if you bought a slightly more expensive pair they aren't supposed to fog up.

The book i was hoping to read was taken out by someone else ( i am number 2) .There must be someone else at my library who reads the same series i do. I checked and i suggested this current book on sept 30th. That is a long time. And we are the only two. For her to have suggested it sooner ... well i don't even know when the title was released. :)

At least one of the other books i wanted was there so i picked it up (they still haven't released the others yet).

I think you have been lucky.  I can't make them any tighter on my face.  It comes with different size nose bridges.  Maybe I'll try a different one & see if that works better.

I managed to injure myself twice today. One was very odd. I was reaching down to throw something away in a garbage under the computer. And some how i reached with my neck and stretched it wrong. And boy did it hurt. It is still not feeling great. But i can still move around.

The other was my pinkie (actually the other one - not the one that got cut).My niece was throwing me her Harlem Globetrotter basketball. And instead of bounching it to me. She bounced it right at my hand. And she got my pinkie. Ouch. I iced it. It still hurts but i can move it okay.

Do you have them very tight on the sides of your eyes (like it might hurt). There needs to be no space. They need to be suctioned to her face pretty hard. It might feel uncomfortable at first.
