Lucky you to have a dentist who could make your crown so quickly.   Is she a young dentist with her own lab?

It looked like the crown "machine" was just that ... a machine sitting right there in the room with the dental chair.  Or maybe what I saw was the computer part of something that takes place in some back room.  As to your other question, well, she's younger and better looking than some of her patients!    :)    (Seriously, I always HIGHLY and unhesitatingly recommend her to anyone in the area who's in need or want of a fine dentist.)

She looks young without being too young. ;)

Is your crown made with the new technology comfortable?

DR Jane--I'm glad to hear that Sherlock seems to be enjoying himself.

Thank you.  It is such a relief even though we know it won't last long.

I gotta tell you.  I did two a two-mile jog.  The Novocain is finally wearing off and I must admit that area of my mouth doesn't feel all that great right now.

Surprise, surprise. ;)

When I had a crown done, after all the prep work, they told me to just wait. He came back in after about a half hour with the new crown and put it on.

Is it comfortable?

DR Danise,

Too cute!!!  Thank you, DR Jane.  I only ate about half the slice of cake.  It's funny.  I haven't been eating to many sweets since I discovered I have diabetes.  You would think I would really enjoy it but it doesn't taste as good to me any more.  Same with soda.  I've been drinking Simply Lime or Simply Lemonade or plain water.  I don't really care for the sweet drinks.

Reducing sweets, butter & salt has that reaction.  I need to reduce my sugar intake.  I've gotten used to it again.

I didn't spend it.  I honestly don't know what I would want.  I thought of a Kindle Fire or some such since my   Itouch downloads books I can't justify the expense.  I'm just happy the house is being taken care of.  What more could I ask for? :)

Let's just hope the dentist got the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth!

I've been having problems with misplacing my bit.  I don't know where I set it when I get up in the morning and have had to buy a replacement.  I don't know if somehow Toby the Terrible got hold of it and took it outside (but I didn't find any pieces) or worse, he ate it.

Oh, totally.  I was a little sore that evening, but after that they were just as natural feeling as anything else in my mouth.  I'll ask her more about this when I go in for my checkup.

I'm happy to report that I've just found out Edmundo Ros will be scoring the unedited version of Downton Abbey.

I announced this on Sunday, which you would know, if you ever read my posts.

I wish I could lose that taste. But, alas, the ice cream calls me. And I answer the call with a great big yes all too often.

I loved the late great Grayson Hall! Here she is in the Brecht-Weill HAPPY END as the leader of the criminals, the Lady in Grey.

I just can't quite cotton to Geraldine McEwen as Miss Marple.  I'm not quite sure why.

BK, today was the worst of the 2 appointments it takes to complete a crown.  Just be careful with the temporary - they're not very substantial and they come out pretty easily.  Seating the permanent crown is usually pretty easy.

Temps are not very pretty, either.  When I had my 4 front teeth capped in 1994, I referred to the temporaries as my Mrs. Doubtfire teeth.

I hope I never need to cap or replace my front teeth.

Well, when the orthodontia you've suffered through in high school doesn't hold and your teeth are as crooked as they were before...

Ginny, have you eaten at a place in Dayton called Rue Dumaine? The chef, Anne Kearney, was up for a Beard Award for best chef of that region. She lost to a Chicago chef, but getting nominated for that is great.

I have not been there, DR John G, but have just been looking at their website.  Sounds like a place to try!

I really love how wonderful Christie's misdirection is in A Murder is Announced.  I've seen three versions of this now and always marvel at how cleverly all the characters' backstories are woven together.
