I only saw the end of WOMAN IN HIDING on TCM - but it seems like two people got tossed into some kind of grinding machine at a factory.......  OUCH!

And just like in SUDDEN FEAR - the two leading ladies were wearing almost identical clothes, making the mistaken demise even more bizarre.....if only someone had worn a sweater of a different color......   B/W movie....but you know what I mean.

But it was still better than LURE OF THE SWAMP, I must say.....even though there was no quicksand in WOMAN IN HIDING.

A lot of movies could have been improved with a quicksand pit.

Say you were in a play.....and you have lines to learn.....what would be most helpful......on Wednesday, July 4.....a rehearsal of the show OR a day off to work on lines?

Check engine lights are the worst.  Not because they necessarily mean horrible news, but because in so many cases...you don't have any idea what it means!

A co-worker of mine told me that a local (to him) auto shop place told him that it would cost $200 JUST to hook the engine up to the computer that could tell them why the check engine light came on! :o And that's not them doing anything other than having the computer read the car's chip.

Well the diagnostic/labor was $61 and the part was $5.46.

That's a lot better than $200 just for the diagnosis.

Yes indeed it is DR GEORGE.  I am very happy.....hopefully it will get me there and back in short order.

I am leaving now for rehearsal so that I can get the rest of the furniture and set dressing onstage before the cast arrives.....

Pictures will be taken......perhaps.

I never heard of such a thing for the diagnosis, and I have all my servicing done at a dealership.

For those who might be interested...and you know who you are...TCM has a wonderful new four film release titled WOMEN IN DANGER. Here ar the titles included (two of these movies are my most faves!)

FEMALE ON THE BEACH with Joan Crawford and Jeff Chandler (oh, and Ed Fury  8) )

THE UNGUARDED MOMENT with Esther Williams, George Nader, and John Saxon.

WOMAN IN HIDING with Ida Lupino, Stephan McNally, Howard Duff, and Peggy Dow.

PRICE OF FEAR with Merle Oberon, Lex Barker, and Charles Drake.

It is nice to see that Universal is, little by litte, releasing some of their 1950s gems!

The set is currently on sale at WWW.SHOP.TCM.COM

I think I saw all of these programers at the Orpheum Theater in Seattle when they were first released.

I don't recall any of them in any detail.

But it was still better than LURE OF THE SWAMP, I must say.....even though there was no quicksand in WOMAN IN HIDING.

Courtesy of DR MBarnum I’ve just been watching LURE OF THE SWAMP. This must be very rare – it’s not listed in either of Leonard Maltin’s movie review books. Making allowing for its low budget, I enjoyed seeing it as something a bit out of the routine, even though the film doesn’t have much resemblance to the colorful poster! I always like seeing bad people come to a sticky end in quicksand. Nice melodic music score.

So, this Previn score is great.  I've never seen the film, but I wanted to branch out on what little Previn I know -- which off the top of my head, is limited to DEAD RINGER as far as original scores go.  This is lovely indeed.  Some great cocktail music here, and I mean that in a good way.

Correction -- there are several films he scored that of course I know and love.  I just don't remember them for their music.  Will listen better in the future.

Uh, oh...I did n't think it would arrive so fast to the UK! LOL! DR ChasSmith, I just made a copy this weekend of REFORM SCHOOL GIRL (1957) so you would have a nice picture to add as double feature...and they will go out into the mail this week!

DR Cillaliz I also really like the Summer Olympics. And I also like swimming and diving. I also tend to gravitate towards the sports where Canada can win medals.
