For no particular reason, other than it is a holiday, here is a photograph my favorite lamp which sits in the NE corner of my living room next to my couch.

Either the lamp, the Greek yogurt, or John Stamos has scared everyone away.

I guess I will be going to that Sondheim chat and song thing - he arranged for me to come back afterwards and then to attend some little private soiree.  Now, who to take.

I seriously have a lamp shade that is almost the same as that one.  I'll have to take a photo of it for you

We will soon be having some of that on top of the blueberry pie I made this morning.  The original recipe calls for sour cream, but that's no longer on my diet.

Well, I didn't get to use my single use grill.  It got dark and we had lots of thunder so I didn't think there would be enough time to get everything cooked before there would be a total storm.  Of course, having made the decision to just broil the steak and boil the corn on the cob, it brightened and I could have went ahead with my plans.

You know what?  I don't care.  It was just as good.

I'm just grateful that I had good food and I am with my dogs.  I'm grateful that I have people who love me and I love them.  I am grateful to the  men and women who risk their lives or have given them so that I can enjoy my meal in peace and freedom.  I don't care what their sexual orientation is.  I just want to thank them for their service.

I'm grateful to Bruce for creating this wonderful website--I don't say thank you often enough for that.

I'm grateful for the friendships I have.

I'm grateful for my home and all the wonderful people who are going to help me with it.

I'm grateful I have a job (wish I had a better boss though).

I don't say any of these things often or loud enough and I should because I always think "They know", forgetting that someday they may be gone and I will regret never having the chance to say these thing to them again.

And amazingly, Phoenicians were not among them. It was very cool and cloudy today.

I love those 1950s double-shaded lamps.  I have a nice little rectangular one of that shade style (but NOT a double), found at a yard sale here for $5 over ten years ago, and I still love it.  Should take a picture of it sometime.

Well....well, my Weather Bug says that it is currently 67 degrees.  That is the highest temp today.

Our predicted overnight low is 5 degrees above that!

I shouldn't be so smug.  They say that by Sunday, our temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.  That doesn't sound terrible to most of you, but most people out here don't have air conditioning.

Been there with no AC.  Not fun.  I would say I got spoiled having it fairly quickly and can't imagine not having it now.

Finished two motion pictures and shortly I'll go for a 4th of July swim, then probably mosey on outside and watch some fireworks in the sky.

Good night all.  It's ten and I have to go to work in the morning.  I'm just amazed by how scared the dogs are.  I'll let them on the bed and hope things quite down soon.

Enjoy your evening, where ever you are!

DR Cillaliz, does that mean that you have not gone swimming in 10 years?

I keep wearing out my bathing suits!  In the summer, with the outdoor pool I can sometimes go 5-6 times a week.
