DR Jane (and anyone else), my niece (6) has turned into a big time reader. She is reading the Nancy Drew teen crew books. Daisy Meadows Fairy series. Fancy Nancy chapter book.   It is so cute to watch. She just loves to read!

So far this summer she's been to her library 3 or 4 times. And mine twice (different selections of books). And this is only since she finished school on June 22nd.

 :)

I hope she never loses her love of reading and that her little sister will share it.
Good for her. What great adventures lie in store for her.
Does anyone remember Encyclopedia Brown?  They were good too.

Glad that DR Jane and DH Keith are home, safe and sound!

 :)
I don't know if I welcomed you back yet or not. So, even if I have, welcome back many times.

Many times thank you.

While we were away our DVR broke and nothing recorded.  Keith had heard strange noises from it before we left so I set a number of shows to record in Craig's room.  I hope they are there to watch tomorrow night when we pet sit the furry grand kids.  We will sleep in their room instead of taking them into ours.

Monday someone from Directv is supposed to replace our recorder.  I fear the information has been lost & everything will have to be reprogrammed, at least what I can remember to program.

I hate it when they have to replace my DVR.  Having to set everything back up is the worst!

Funny links DR BEN.

Sad to hear about Mr Borgnine.....never liked him much until I saw him on The Hollywood Squares one week, and he was such a soft spoken gentleman and talked a bit about his Italian heritage....he was certainly a good actor to portray those heels and villains and low lifes....

After that, I appreciated him much more.

Dogs are funny critters.  Remember I said that Sheena and Toby had a bit of a falling out last week.  Well now they are laying side by side, best buds again.

Keith had to prove the box was broken by installing Craig's box in our room to see if it would work there.  They guy on the phone said these things NEVER break. ::)

Finished the third Maria Wern film and have just ordered the rest of them - one more box containing four more films.  The one I just watched was the best of them.

Has anybody here tried YONANAS?

It's basically frozen fruit that you put in the machine and it comes out the texture of soft ice cream.

I got one this week and LOVE IT.  It is amazing especially if you like ice cream but don't want to gain weight.  Plus if you don't do well with dairy.

I showed it to my niece today. We made so many different flavors to test. We had banana/blueberry, raspberry, blueberry, with a bit of banana (this was super good). Also banana and peaches. And banana/cherry/blueberry.

http://www.yonanas.com/

It looks interesting.  If I had young children I would consider getting it.

It can be nice for people with kids who don't like to eat fruit. But i totally wanted it for myself. I like treats, but want them to be healthier.  It is delicious.

Just finishing "Young Adult." Not a great movie, but Charlize Theron is better than the script.

Oh, my - apparently my nap in the recliner at church was just a teaser for my longer nap in my own recliner here at home.  Woke up about 7pm, had a bite to eat, and read both Sunday papers.

I know I wouldn't use it enough.  I need to get rid of gadgets, not buy more.

I just went online and purchased a wedding gift for my cousin's daughter.  Sometimes you look at a registry and nothing goes until close to the wedding.  I suspected I should have done this a month ago (the wedding isn't until August) and I was right.  I still found a coordinating 3 item option I like though it wasn't what I single item I was originally going to get.
