DR George, reading about the secretary I felt very bad for him.

Me too. Did the people who voted against him have something they didn't like about him? Couldn't they have told him that they were voting for someone else so that he would know.

I doubt they would want to tell him they weren't voting for him.

Advance copies of my book arrived today. It is strange to hold in your hands something like that, something you worked that hard on, and see your name on it. A quiet thing, as the song says.

Or something to shout from the rooftops, if you feel like it!  Congratulations, John G!!!!!!!!

Decision made: My engineer thought the mastering was masterful and was very happy so that's what we're going with.

Hey all,  could you please send some of those HHW vibes to my brother, David.  He's going to undergo bypass surgery at 6:00 AM.   He's had problems over the years and I guess this time the doctors said medication isn't good enough.  He has no heart damage and they want to do the procedure while there is no damage.   He's only 54 years old, so I hope that helps him have a speedy recovery

Thanks FJL.  The surgery will last at least 4-5 hours, so I won't know anything until about noon tomorrow.  My dad had a quintuple bypass 14 years ago and is doing fine.  His whole family and my parents are there.

Thanks for the vibes.  It's kind of hard not to be there, but there are already 8 people there for him.  I think I'd be in the way

On a happier note, I decided to go see THE NUTTY PROFESSOR, the Musical in Nashville.   I missed Rupert's last two shows, so I decided I didn't want to miss this.  It should be fun and I'll get to bum around in Nashville a little

I'm off to a local restaurant, Budd Bay Cafe, to celebrate my sister's boyfriend's birthday!  I bought him a CD, Carole King's The Legendary Demos.  I don't know if he has it, but if he does, I'll keep it and get him something else.

Be back later!

Well, Larry really liked the CD!  He is a fan of Carole King and didn't have this CD, so all is well. :)

I doubt they would want to tell him they weren't voting for him.

The voting is (of course) anonymous.  It was different this year because we were in a crunch for time...our by-laws specify that the voting has to be done by a certain date.  We couldn't find a date for all voting members to get together at one time to have live voting, so we decided to create this survey-as-ballot on surveymonkey.com.  It was all tied to each voting member's e-mail address, people couldn't vote twice AND it was confidential.  No one (not even the two people who created the survey) could find out how anyone voted.  But the downside was that it also didn't give the nominees any chance to talk to the voters at the potluck election (or anyone to pass on the idea to put yourself in for another position).  So, we're stuck with what we got and it all counted as officially official, according to our by-laws.
