Today is the premiere of GLEE. And it should be a pretty interesting episode of BIG BROTHER.

Hmm, should I "unlist" this Paula Deen - LEGALLY BLONDE - Barbara Walters mash-up now that BOTH Walters and Deen have revealed they have health problems?

Who knew when this was done (I guess they knew, but it wasn't public info!)

SO MUCH BUTTER - an old heart-clogging spoof, in honor of Matthew's Legally Blonde sound problems

Thanks, DR FJL!!!  Loved it.  Sent it to the cast/orchestra.

My co-author and friend, Bonnie, is touring coffee plantations in Guatemala this week. So, naturally, there's a report of a volcano erupting in the area where she is and that they're evacuating thousands.

Thankfully, I just heard that she left that area this morning and has heard nothing about lava flows or anything else.

It is a beautiful day, today, in the Pacific Northwest.  I  got up at six and fed Nicky, and I then went back to bed and slept until nine thirty.  Amazing!  I guess I needed it.

:)

It was 91 degrees here.

Several things are weighing quite heavily on my mind today, so I think the best thing to do is go to the Y.  I'll use the treadmill and the NuStep and listen to something upbeat like MAMMA MIA.

Bye for now...

Exercise is always good for coping with things that weigh heavily on one's minds.  It gets those endorphin's working.

And I am back from THE BOOK OF MORMON. which is outrageously funny and even more outrageously rude. I kept thinking it was much ado about two Mormons wiping out their past, very similar to Christopher Durang's hysterically funny and rude anti-Catholic comedies. At one point I thought the show was going to get really dark but the subsequent scene and the x-ray were so much ruder than an assassination. I don't know if "The Small House of Uncle Thomas" inspired the native pageant, but I kept thinking of THE KING & I during it.

I didn't think much of the score beyond that it served the piece well, but the arrangements are fantastic and the tiny 9-piece band sounds huge. The cast was great and I laughed a lot. I think Casey Nicholaw is an amazing talent and the show moves fast and furiously funny. The casr is really quie wonderful, and I saw my friends Michael Jablonski and Kevin Duda afterwards. Kevin and I stepped out for a bit; he the producer of our Appalachian show. I had hoped to see Nick Spangler, my friend who was an AMAZING RACE winner several yearsag, but he'd already vanished. They have another show at 7:00 tonight.

The workers are prepping to put the stairs & walkway in.  Whatever the equipment is they are using, it is too loud & I must get off the computer.  They are using it right outside the door next to me.

Top two small cast plays - Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Long Day's Journey Into Night.

Also like Two for the Seesaw, Rattle of a Simple Man (both two person plays), The Only Game in Town and Luv.

Actually, if you want to get technical, LONG DAYS JOURNEY is a five-character play.  In addition to mom and dad and the boys; there is also the maid.  A thankless role.  I believe she is only in the third act.

I almost didn't ;)

The avocado's are ripe on the outside and hard on the inside.  I didn't make much.

There's also the musical version of Luv, called What About Luv?  Judy Kaye (and her husband) are in this. :)

I knew you would approve, DR Jane  ;)

The exercise and MAMMA MIA helped.  We made a quick stop for a few groceries on the way home and made bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches for our dinner.

I've had an update about one of the worrisome situations and, while not good, it's not as bad as I'd imagined.

Good Evening!

...And I'm back from visiting my DN Alexandra. She's doing well. Alas, her doctor wants to keep her in the hospital for one more night of observation. Hopefully, her long "weekend" will mean that she'll be able to go back to school on Monday.

...And my step-nephew and step-niece (??) also loved the hospital. At least the outdoor courtyard in the Children's wing: scooters, big wheels, hula-hoops, bubble machines, etc. :)
