As for the Topic of the Day...

-I played little league baseball and was a truly horrible player. The number of fly balls I let drop to the ground instead of in my baseball glove is legendary. ;) -And, of course, the one fly ball I attempted to catch tipped the top of my glove and landed on my right eye. Ouch!

Did you manage to hang on to it?

No.

But I did manage going to the ER with my patents. ::)

Today is our Annual Silent Auction.

I donated some wonderful things this year, and I hope they bring us some cash.  Our proceeds go into our Holiday Party (i.e. Christmas, but we can't say that) Fund.

25% of our proceeds go to the Oakland Food Bank.  For each dollar we donate, an addtional $4 worth of food is provided.

Please don't let me buy anything.

This event used to be held with our Annual Bake Sale.  Somehow these events were separated out.

It was noticed the first time it happened that something big was missing.  Instead of re-adding the bake sale to the silent auction, they (the troublemakersdecision makers/powers-that-be took the opportunity to add a "chili cook-off", so we have three kinds of chili to sample at $6 a bowl.

Do you still get royalties off of your patents?

Out of pure evil curiousity, what (on earth) was your team's name?  And what were your colors?

TOD - My Mom's cousin, who was like an aunt to me, lived out in the country west of Indianapolis and had a horse named Trixie.  There was a home movie made of me riding Trixie with my Dad walking alongside and a few years ago my Mom had that transferred to video for me.  One of my absolute treasures...

As for sports, I never liked team sports, but spent quite a bit of time ice skating during my Detroit childhood.  When I was a college freshman, I took half a semester of figure skating as part of my phys ed requirement.  Learned just enough to appreciate watching it on TV.  I wish I had developed a fitness habit during my 5 years in Ann Arbor when lessons and facilities were "free."

And in a few hours, I shall be meeting DRs TCB and George for the first time! -And they may end up having doughnuts too.
Have fun and donuts for the rest of us.

I made french press coffee this morning.  Delicious and satisfying.  I should do that more often.

Sadly, no doughnuts.  (Not donuts.  Doughnuts.)

Busy week just got BUSIER.  Package I worked on Monday through yesterday, and finally delivered to the County Administrator, now has to be recalled because "someone" (not me), decided to niggle over some wording that could have been adjusted two weeks ago.

I believe my team colors were Green and Gold/Yellow. However, I can't remember the name of the team. I do have a team picture in one of my photo albums, so I guess I could look it up eventually.

And...

After getting the flight confirmations for my multi-stage return trip back east... Well... I'm thankful that the first day of rehearsal on Tuesday, October 2, doesn't really start until Noon. I'm pretty sure 10:00am that morning is going to feel quite "early" after flying back from Chicago to LGA, holding a last minute casting session in Chelsea and then flying back down to Dulles all in the span of 10 hours the day before.
