Saturday is opening night of the Sioux City Symphony.  I'm looking forward to it.  I love Pictures at an Exhibition

September 22,2012

Opening Night

Leon Fleisher, piano

Liebermann:  Revelry for Orchestra, Op. 47

Ravel:  Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D major

Borodin:  In the Steppes of Central Asia

Mussorgsky/ Ravel:  Pictures at an Exhibition

Pre-concert talk with Music Director, Ryan Haskins at 6:45 p.m.

That's a great program! And Leon Fleisher too!

Yes, I'm very excited.

i didn't get season tickets to the symphony this year because I had so many conflicts when I had them and missed concerts.  It's never sold out, so I decided to just get tickets for each concert.  It's a little more, but won't be if I miss one or two

BTW, DR JOSE - Under the Streetlamp will be here in October.  Didn't you say you knew some of the people in the show?

Yep. Michael Ingersoll. We go back to his SETC days.

Looks like the mini get together today was a lot of fun. And sounds like DR Jose is having a fabulous vacation

It really was a great day, and I am having a great vacation.

...Of course, right now, I'm sitting in my hotel room surfing the web, posting on and watching TV. ::)

Wednesday night we started band.  My shoulder was pretty sore, but not as bad as a couple weeks earlier, so I'm glad about that.  It was so good to be back playing again.  I'm going to miss the Christmas concert this year, but I'm ok with that.   I'll be there for fall and both of our spring concerts.

I'm very tired.  I am supposed to be writing a brief, but I'm just too tired to do it.  It's got to be mailed to the court by Monday, so there's plenty of time.

I love Andersonville!

If you have time for breakfast in the morning, be sure to go to m. henry. Great coffee and the breakfast bread pudding is a great way to start the day.

*And if you only have time for coffee, go to The Coffee Studio.

Now, if you're not staying near Andersonville, well.. If there's a branch of Hannah's Bretzel near you...

Got lazy and watched another movie tonight, the latest TV version of "Mansfield Park." It's like a short-hand version and the camera can't focus anywhere but on Fanny's breasts. I guess it's quite satisfactory without being anything special.
