It's overcast here in the bay area.  However, the weather widget on my phone says it's suppose to hit 85 today.  I have a feeling that will be for a total of 2-3 hours.

Tonight I'm going to see a local production of Grey Gardens  I really know nothing about the show.  I saw the documentary or whatever it was on PBS a few years ago, but that's it.  Oh, and of course, both recordings have found their way into my iTunes library.  I'll listen after I see the show.

BK, do the cameramen have trouble getting through a shoot without laughing? Or have they pretty much seen everything by this point?

From DR Cilla:
Quote
In Iowa if you vote early, they notify both parties that you've voted and you get taken off of all the calling lists....they could care a less if you live or die once you've already voted.

This is great.  We don't have our ballets yet and they still call after we have voted.

It's okay - having to do some quick damage control, but hopefully it will all be fine.

We always do a rehearsal or two, so that's when we all laugh.  But when we shoot we all have to hold it in, but if you watch the raw footage, the minute I call "cut" everyone bursts out laughing.  There were a couple of moments yesterday when we almost ruined takes because we were laughing.

From Cilla:
Quote
I went to the City council meeting to complain about the stupid don't feed the deer or turkeys but ok to feed the squirrels and birds ordinance.   They showed part of my comments on TV.  I have had more people tell me that they saw that clip and they are against the ordinance than anything I've ever done.  It's hilarious.  People walk up on the street to say "I saw you on tv.  I agree about the deer"  LOL

 ;D

Here there is a reason people shouldn't feed the wildlife, Bears & Coyote's.  Not feeding the deer has not reduced their population.  To keep deer away all landscaping would have to be removed.

DELIGHTED  (  :)  ) to report the arrival of DAVID AND BATHSHEBA (and SUGAR!) !!

(Just an FYI to BK -- the CD spindle in D&B was broken, with five of the little "points" missing - except for one which was floating in the case.  No biggie, I'll move it all to a new case, only wanted to let you know.)

Half the stuff I get from amazon arrives with the hubs broken - it happens at the pressing plant - it's all automated and I'm surprised it doesn't happen much more.

Listening to the new cast album for Carrie.  I like Michael Gore and I like some of his music for this.  I absolutely loathe Dean Pitchford's lyrics with their sloppy rhymes and cliches.  The cast does well, but there are just way too many times when it sounds like all that caterwauling in Spring Awakening - that relentless screaming.  The woman who's playing the gym teacher sports a really inane southern accent, which she totally drops during her songs.  Director in attendance?  Is it all the great rediscovered classic?  No.  But it has some pleasing moments.

In addition to several college football games in which I have no emotional investment, I'm also watching the Ryder Cup (golf) on TV.  Why?  Because my niece Laura, the golf pro from Illinois State University is in the stands at the 4th green and I'm trying to catch a glimpse of her.

Well, now the caterwauling like Spring Awakening makes sense - same vocal arranger, so exact same kinds of harmonies and screaming.  She also did Next to Normal, which is more of the same in the group singing.

I shall shortly be on my way to hopefully pick up some packages and an important envelope - if the latter is there then I'll do some banking, then go to our rehearsal.

Go Ohio State!

Ginny, I figured you would prefer that I not root for Michigan State.

DR TCB, except for when they play Michigan, I always root for Michigan State.  Especially today, I'd love to see the Spartans give Urban Meyer a crushing Big Ten welcome.

That is amazing, Laura.  Although, I admit that I fast forwarded it a few times.

You must be a very patient person. ;)

I only watched the beginning as I have to make cookie dough.  I'll finish it later.
