Oh! And in August/September I organized a mostly successful costume swap meet for charity. I say mostly successful, because I had vendors that just about had more items than there was space for them, but I really would've liked to raise more for the charity. Well, it was good for a first time effort. It will be better next year.
Those all sound great. Keep us informed. Have you thought of trying Kickstarter for the Mae West project?
I used Indiegogo, because I didn't want to deal with paypal. I got a couple donations, but I really started it too late.
I had made up a lovely donation letter & form that I was going to send to some businesses, but then got cold feet about asking for money, especially as a relative unknown. I also didn't even really have the money to get them all printed, which was kind of sad.
I started the Indiegogo account & blasted it to my friends for about a month, but that's about as far as it went.
Close to the 11th hour, I got desperate & emailed some of the businesses with the Indiegogo link.
I didn't hear back from one of them.
Which was probably better than getting "Who the hell are you?" but it does make me a little worried about asking them next year. My hope is that it went into their spam folders & that they never saw it. :/
