I'm outta here in 15 minutes for the wilds of Penn Station. I'm hoping it won't be horribly crowded.

I will upgrade my very basic Tracfone this weekend. My yearly renewal is due next month anyway and this phone is 4 years old so I'm going to get a very basic feature (not smart but feature) phone that looks like a BlackberryCrackberry. I still won't use it much except when I'm traveling but it will be fun to have a new toy to occupy myself.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I'm home all day today to make our house presentable and festive for tomorrow's gathering.  There will be 16 of us for Thanksgiving dinner.

I just saw a commercial for a game called Apples to Apples that had a sexy Abraham Lincoln dancing wearing only black bicycle shorts and a top hat.  :o

JRand, it is listed as Eclipse Series 37. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Eclipse-Series-37-Criterion-Collection/dp/B008Y5OXDI

Or you can get it at Barnes and Noble while they are having their Criterion sale: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dvd-criterion-coll-eclipse-37-when-horror-came-to-shochiku/25099739?ean=715515100519

OK, so someone just sent me the following recipe for a Holiday Smash. Might be just the thing for those having a liquid Thanksgiving:

Holiday Smash

In a shaker combine:

Bar spoon of leftover cranberry sauce

3 slices of fresh ginger

½ part of simple syrup

Muddle gently.

Add 2 parts Bärenjäger honey liqueur

Add ice and shake well and pour all ingredients into a rocks glass.

Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy!

It seems that somehow the payroll situation has been straightened out. Yeah. Now we can go kill turkeys and give thanks.

So sad, we lost another Mickey Mousketeer...and she was living near DR JRand62!

I will need to pop in one of my Mickey Mouse Club dvds, because I can't quite recall her. But sad, nevertheless.

BK, my Ask BK Wednesday question that I referred to yesterday was are there any other cast album reissue possibilities (besides "A Time for Singing") in the works for Kritzerland?...he asked hopefully.

Not really.

For the Wednesday ASK BK question:

What was your favorite or least favorite things about Thanksgiving as a kid.

For me, I loved having my cousin's Molly and Bobby over. We'd play board games and watch movies on TV all day long.

Speaking of CDs and such, I have something to

Ask BK :

This is probably a stupid question, but are Kritzerland CD mixes created with traditional two-channel stereo playback in mind, even on today's multi-channel receivers?  Are there exceptions?

I was a late-comer to surround sound at home, setting up my first decent system only two years ago.  The receiver I chose needed to not only process movie tracks wonderfully, but also assume the duties of a traditional stereo amp in being the hub for turntable and other goodies.  (I added a decent outboard phono pre-amp.)  It was my belief then, and is now, that traditional stereo sources should be appreciated in their own element, not "processed" in any number of schemes by the receiver.  Not that I don't experiment now and then.  But I'm a purist at heart, and always force the system into plain old stereo when enjoying regular CDs and records and tapes.  I'll bet a lot of people don't pay much attention to that stuff, but it makes sense to me.

No, I've never done a surround mix for a CD - I don't see the point, really.
