DR Jane, I'm sorry about the Trader Joe's mistake of a meal you got stuck with.

Thanks but it really is ok.  I wasn't expecting much & figured I would eat less if I didn't like it.

Aren't you going to take the rest of it back?

I put it down the garbage disposal.
What did that garbage disposal do to you?

Larry Hagman has died.
I'm sorry to hear that. Just when the new "Dallas" was happening.

Of course, he was a fine Bummy on the recording of "The Nervous Set."

And maybe I shall pull out my copy of MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL.
I hope to watch that this weekend.

ROTL!

I still think she should complain to Trader Joe's.  They usually stand behind their products.

It looks like the parade was fun, John.  And you probably had a lot better weather than the Seattle Christmas Parade had today.

The food arrived too soon, so I only got to see a half-dozen or so floats. Most were playing Christmas music, including a few carols I remember from Germany that aren't played too often. One float, however, was playing "Theme from 'New York, New York'," which was oddly out of place at Christmas and in San Antonio. But nobody but me seemed to care.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  You'd think it was the day after Thanksgiving or something.  The pie from the East Coast Singer did not have a smooth journey I'm a afraid - when I finally removed the tin foil the contents of the pie were all on one side and there was no smoothing it out, I'm afraid.  I had a little bit, but it was a little too wrecked to enjoy.  Now I'm hungry.

Good evening.  DR Vixmom, my laptop suffered a slow death.  It was to the point where I had to practically say a prayer to the computer gods to get it to boot up.  I didn't want Windows 8 because all my other computers are Windows 7, so about 11:00 I ventured to Best Buy. It wasn't too bad at that time crowd wise. Busy, but not oppressively so.   Anyway, I got an open box and a good deal on a Toshiba lap top. I'm still getting used to the keyboard, but I think I'm going to like it.

Then I went to see Sharon at the hospital.  They had just started changing her dressings on her wounds when I arrived so I had to wait about 45 minutes to get in to see her.   Then I had to put on a gown and gloves to go in the room.  The visit was amazing though. She really looks good, but this thing kicked her in the butt.  She's lost skin and muscle all over her body, but she is getting better.   She has her 9th surgery on Wednesday and then will be going to a rehab hopital.  She doen't think she'll be home by Christmas.    They don't have any idea how she got this which is pretty scary.

I have to say it was an amazing visit. She is so up and so positive and plans to get back to working with animals.  She's hoping to keep her former clients etc.  She know's it won't be for a long time, but she's already got the plans made etc.   She really looked good.  It was so great to see her.

I stayed about an hour and we talked and laughed.  I was truly SO happy being there with her. She told me the whole story as it has been related to her because she doesn't remember.  I filled her in on all the people who were sharing information about her and the people who had been asking about her.   She told me one person came to visit her and when she started talking about her condition the woman went into the hall and fainted.  Another stood in the door and talked but didn't "gown up" and come in the room.  I had no qualms about being there.  The nursing staff didn't wear gowns or gloves and neither did her sister.  I figure if they aren't worried about it without gloves and a gown, I wasn't going to worry about it while I was wearing both

I have a little work I have to do in the morning  It should have been done today, but I got sidetracked and the federal court is closed, so I don't think it really makes a difference if I electronically file it Friday or Saturday   I'm pretty sleepy and the keyboard on this computer is really hard to get used to.

Home from a lovely dinner.  My brother-in-law plays guitar and he and I blues group he plays with played a restaurant nearby and a bunch of the family and friends came out to enjoy dinner and good music.  He usually plays at places that are farther away, but tonight he played closer to home, so it was great to finally hear him.  My sister (his wife), my brother and his girl, my mom and her guy, myself and the DP and some other family members were in attendance.  It was a great time.

I'm home after going to and watching rehearsal for "The Wind in the Willows."  They had most of the sound cues built, but not all of them...especially during the last half of the second act.  Harrison, the stage manager, said that they should be fixed by Sunday's rehearsal at the theater.  I hope so, but I'm just the sound board operator.  If it's not done, it's no skin off my nose.

I hooked up my cable modem directly to my netpad and am relaxing in my rarely used recliner.  I'm also watching the burned Blu-ray of The Met's "Satyagraha" that my sister's boyfriend made for me.  It looks as good as the original hi-def broadcast.  You wouldn't know that it's a burned Blu-ray...and since it hasn't (yet?) been released for purchase at all, I'm really glad I got it at all. :)
